Jessica Lahey is a teacher, writer, and mother who believes it’s important to allow children to learn from their mistakes and failures.
Jessica says when parents constantly intervene or rescue their children from consequences, they hinder their child's learning process and can result in dependent, emotionally stunted children who never learn to adapt to the world around them.
She suggests parents should aim to foster their children's autonomy and competence, rather than misguided confidence.
