Simon Lim puts the spotlight on Kamini Ramachandran. Kamini is the Director of MoonShadow Stories. She is a pioneer in the field of storytelling in Asia.
Being the creative force behind MoonShadow Stories which spearheaded performance storytelling for adult audiences, how did Kamini make storytelling become a mainstay in her life?
Kamini is also the Creative Producer of StoryFest: International Storytelling Festival Singapore, and she'll share with you about Story Walk which she conceptualised.
Kamini Ramachandran's Asian repertoire of stories has taken her to castles in Belgium, ruins in Rome, greenfield festivals in England and Wales, cities of Edinburgh, Sydney, Bangalore and the Emirates, as well as Penang and Denmark. Kamini will share a most memorable experience.
In wanting to keep traditional stories alive, Kamini has journeyed into the jungles of Malaysia to stay with the indigenous tribes. She has even travelled to small villages in Thanjavur (in Tamil Nadu, India) to listen to rural women bring alive South Indian folktales.
What is Kamini's current interest in storytelling? What has inspired or intrigued her?
