There are no current plans for major safety improvements to the existing N17 in south Sligo. 

It follows serious concern over the stretch, particularly between Tubbercurry and Curry. 

While the new N17 scheme continues through the planning and statutory approval process, it'll be many years before the project gets off the ground. 

Minor improvements will be made in the interim when necessary.
