There are calls to delay a public consultation on new speed limits in County Sligo.
Plans to introduce new 30km/h speed limits in built-up areas across the County are continuing, with a public consultation due to begin in August.
But Councillor Donal Gilroy proposed delaying the consultation until September to allow more input from schools and parents.
His proposal at yesterdays sitting of Sligo County Council did not receive support from fellow councillors, leaving him disappointed with the outcome.
