A recent survey released by two UW-Madison Ag Economists solidified how important all of Wisconsin agriculture is to the state's bottom line. Dairy, as you'd expect, was leading the way.
Ben Miller, Senior Vice President of Industry Relations for Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, visits with Pam Jahnke to recap some of the key take-aways from the report focused on dairy.
Miller notes that the strength that is witnessed in the survey results didn't happen overnight. It's been a generational commitment by farm families, cheesemakers, processing facilities and researchers that brought the state to this point.
Miller also notes that it's critical that Wisconsin continues to recognize and respect what agriculture and the dairy industry mean to the state and how it functions. Plus, have eyes on the future and how it needs to grow.
