Hungry farm show goers are snacking on nearly 500 baked potatoes 1,300 servings of fries from the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers stand at the WPS Farm Show this week in Oshkosh. The hands that put it all together belong to the Potato Auxiliary. This auxiliary started 50 years ago as a group of essentially farm wives that has continued to be a valuable asset in promoting Wisconsin potatoes. Carol Gagas has been with the auxiliary for more than 40 years and currently runs events such as the food stand at the WPS Farm Show. She says it's pretty special that this tradition has been going on for half a century.
