The holiday season is one of the best times to highlight Wisconsin's dairy products, dairy farmers and dairy processors.  Rachel Kerr is the Senior Director of Experiential and Brand Marketing for Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin.  Through industry research, DFW has found some common trends in what consumers are looking for during the holiday season.

Kerr visits with Pam Jahnke and explains that today's consumers are looking for food experiences.  Different flavors, cultural influences and stories or origin check the boxes for what they're looking for.  Kerr also says that today's consumers want the "back story" on the products they're purchasing.  From sustainability to environmental footprints, it all matters.

Meet The New "Alice"- Will USDA Assist Farms For HPAI Lost Milk

The 2023 Farm Bill drum has been beating for a while now as the deadline for this legislation has been delayed, and the timeline for when it will pass through Congress is still a question. Mike Stranz joins us. He’s the vice president of advocacy for the National Farmers Union, working on the Hill, but his roots are in northeast Wisconsin where he grew up. He gives us an update on how the Farmers Union is using this extra time to press policymakers on consolidation in agriculture. NFU is focused on ensuring there's competition in agriculture to keep input costs low and keep farms independent. He’s optimistic that Congress can get a farm bill done this year, but time will tell. He does anticipate a markup draft of the bill from the House before Memorial Day.
