If you're frustrated that there's been no movement (except down) on cheese prices, you're not alone.  Jenny Wackershauser, dairy analyst with EverAg in Platteville, says high diesel prices are creating an anomaly in the market we haven't seen!  Right now the reimbursement factor provided to cheese processors that cut/wrap product from the west coast is not covering actual transportation costs.  This has led to the holiday buyers for retail and online sources to essentially - stop.

Wackershauser says everyone in dairy country is worried about the prolonged impact this could have on dairy farm margins - which are already in trouble.
