ഇരുട്ടുനിറ‍ഞ്ഞ ആ തുരങ്കത്തിലൂടെ അവർ ധൃതിയിൽ നടന്നു. കാരണം പുകയും ചൂടും അപ്പോഴേക്കും അവര്‍ക്ക് അനുഭവപ്പെട്ടു തുടങ്ങി. അൽപദൂരം നടന്നപ്പോൾ മണ്ണിന്റെ തണുപ്പ് വർദ്ധിച്ചുവന്നു.
