By Newsbreak Producer Hoosen Ebrahim - The Motor Industry Staff Association (MISA) has welcomed government proposals to extend South African driving licence validity from five to 10 years for light motor vehicles and motorcycles. Speaking on the development, MISA spokesperson Phakamile Hlubi-Majola emphasized that reducing administrative red tape will significantly ease financial and scheduling pressures on everyday motorists. However, the union strongly maintains that longer license cycles must not come at the expense of rigorous road safety standards.
