Jess Collins rolled into the Royal Rehab hospital just as Steve rolled out – and the pair have been friends ever since. After a casual surf with her girlfriends saw sustaining a spinal cord injury, Jess has found her way back to her final year of study and, in a fortuitous turn of events, a perfect teaching placement. Jess and Steve share how laughs can break the medical monotony of recovering from an injury – and how being able-bodied is not a determiner of being okay.
