Wellness Wednesday: Sue Barnes (Period Poverty: How The Subz Pads & Project Dignity Aims To Help Young Girls Stay In School)

View descriptionShare

Period poverty affects an estimated 30% of girls in South Africa, causing them to miss up to 50–60 days of school each year. Sue Barnes, Founder of Subz Pads & Project Dignity, chats to Michaela Muller (who stands in for Leigh-Anne Williams) about how her organisation designed washable, reusable sanitary pads and launched Subz Pads - a non-profit that distributes these pads to underprivileged schools across the country. She shares why it's an overlooked crisis in the country and how people can help those in need.
