According to a recent report from the World Health Organization (WHO), Rheumatic Fever (RF) and Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD), a neglected post-infectious chronic disease, often referred to as a 'silent killer' due to its dangerous nature, claims the lives of 288,348 people globally each year. Joha-Nita Jordaan, Dis-Chem Divisional Manage, chats to Leigh-Anne Williams about this illness, some of the symptoms and what preventive measures can be taken to reduce the risk of developing RF and RHD.
