We all have that invisible to-do list running in the back of our minds. Did I pay that bill? What are we having for dinner? I need to respond to that email. The kids need this. I have a deadline tomorrow. I need to book that appointment.
Even when we're physically resting, our brains can still be working overtime.
For Wellness Wednesday, we spoke about the mental load and why constantly keeping track of responsibilities, plans and other people's needs can become exhausting. We also looked at how this invisible workload can affect our relationships, why women often report carrying a particularly heavy mental load, and most importantly, how we can start creating space to actually switch off.
