The fifth Cape Flats Book Festival will take place on 31 January - 1 February 2026 at West End Primary School in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain – the festival will feature 90+ speakers with 50+ sessions (for children, young adults and adults) including poetry and writing workshops, a puppet show, giveaways, books, food and exhibitors. The free festival is open to the public and is hosted by literacy NGO Read to Rise. Roscoe Williams, Read to Rise programme director and co-founder of the Cape Flats Book Festival, chats to Leigh-Anne Williams about the event and how people can get involved.
