Forever. Look mad oh, I see my look over there? How is that culture? Yes, goodness culture. And you might call what we just did a jingy. We did a jingi, and we wrote a jingi which is a jingle, but not quite well. I didn't know it was essentially not completely a jingle. It's just we just had three notes and bowen Um just coined the term a jingi, which is actually takes the same amount of time and energy to say jingi and jingle. In fact, I mean different things. I'm like, okay, yeah, a jing is a tiny jingle. Yes, that is what a jingy is. And now, oh my god, I love it. It's just a distinction with a difference. Do you know what I mean? You know how people say it's a distinction without a difference. This is a distinction with a difference. So jingki is a little trouble. And we said and we sing hp B. Now you might be asking who is HPB. Well, if you if you listen to our last episode of Iron Madison the third, you know HPB hot producer brod He's the l a counterpart two HPJ. And also we want to say something what we love you forever dog, And we love you so much and we love eco Plex because we this is listen, it'll already have happened, and they have been an episode already right after we've done it. But this is we are recording this episode the day after our show at Ecoplex, and we were gagged because I don't think so Honey played in l A. Honey, it played in Hollywood. They liked it, they liked it. But we can talk about we can talk about the differences. Oh yes, please, the New York and l A differences do not stop at last. Cultures doesn't. And it's a different energy. No, but it's really not two different although this is there were the only thing there was one. Let's bring our guests into this discussion. Bring it and then we'll get the truth. So our guess is really a New York sister. She's a New York sister, but she's an l A queen, the true Sometimes you go from a sister to a queen. It's actually a really culture. She's got a sweatshirt that says what upside down New York? Outside down New York, and she really did turn a New York upside down? Can I say what my rutal culture yes, it's rule culture number forty three. You go from a princess to a queen. What do we say? I don't know you from New York princess queen? Is that? Alwa said? New York sister, we go. You go from a New York sister to a to an l a queen. Okay, one more time. My hand will and I also I also want to change what number it is, because I know there's a rule of culture number. It's rule culture number sixty nine. You go from New York sister a l a queen. Credit because you ordinarily say the credits, I feel as of late, yeah, as of later, I said that I can can cop to that. So you say the credits bally iconically, our guest plays Janet on the Good Place, and this is not We throw around iconic a lot, and so does the community. Really, so does the community? Everyone throws around iconic a lot. Well, this is real because once you have someone doing a Halloween costume after you, you bitch, you are icon Yes. Anyway, she's also on HBO's Barry Bill Hayter Fish She'll Hate Fish, Kirby Hollibautiste writer Door I Live and Um she is of course the iconic spoiler alert villain in an Emmy for Megan, Yes, honestly, an Emmy for Megan, I don't know. Maybe an Emmy for Darcy. Maybe an Emmy in a real way for Darcy Carden. That's me. Hello, Hi, And now let's ask what was your experience last night? Because you were on the bandwagon for getting I don't think so, honey out or you didn't I you said it? Do you remember? I do remember you said on this very podcast, on your last episode, you said it's not going to be the same. It's hard to get that same vibe in an l A crowd. But how do we feel? I think it was. Here's here's a couple of things that I'll say. The couplex was amazing. It was fucking packed to the guilt. Actually, when I walked into the theater, I was like, God, damn, that's a lot of seats. Now guess what people? Not only was every seat filled, but like five rows deep of like a like a horseshoe of people around around the seat came out. L A came out. They came out. So I was that's part of it. I feel like l A doesn't come out usually come out, especially on a Tuesday night, as people mentioned a Tuesday night late, not that late, but kind of like we'll started. Um, so they came out. I thought the energy was great. I mean I will always sort of I always do think that an l A crowd is a little maybe not tamer, but a little more. Um is their guard up? Is that there a little more not mental? What is it? What is it? I think it's okay? Can I say this? Can I venture? You can say and the sharks can come for me. But maybe and this this happens in New York too, but maybe especially in l A. Given the makeup, the composition of the crowd, maybe a lot of it is why aren't I up there? Maybe I'm not reading. I'm just saying, like I have this too, Like this wasn't the energy last night that this was. I'm saying, that's not the energy, but like we had. But I feel you. I feel I didn't. Maybe I didn't even notice that or whatever, But I don't think that's wrong. Okay. I felt that the crowd a game show was a little reserved. Like so Darcy came to Game Show, which is Daved Mazzoni's an show New York. We've had We've had a week. I said. I was like, we're going to see each other three days in a row, and that I like, And that's a week. Three days is famous. That week, yes a number seven and three days is a week. Three days is a week. Three days is a week. But I felt, and I don't know if you felt this way, but when you came out to the show in New York at caveat shout out to Night, that was electric. That was electric enity where I was like, us be suns but it was also a Monday. And also God love UCB. They God feed me breakfast every single morning, whatever that means. But you see, my sunset is a hard room in general. It's similar to like a UCB East, although different. Yeah, I think you CEB East is tough because it feels so deep you can't see anything and you seeb sunset is so massive and such a high ceiling. It's hard and when you very much yes, and there was yeah, and there was a nice crowd, but it wasn't packed to the gills in that room. For me, historically has only felt really good when there are people like sitting on the ground, like really full I'll sometimes see like, I think, what's the show that Tarver does where they they get high and do improv Is that when like, um wait, I don't know, I don't know. It's I sometimes see like the popular shows like Modnight. I guess I'll see like Instagram stories and it looks packed and the energy feels it looks good as sunset. Ask Hat is fun? I mean the people, you know, like almost up to the stage. But I've done so many shows there whether where it's not very packed and you just feel like cavernous. Yeah, are you still doing ask Out every week? Not every week, but as many as I can. You can. Gotta have it. I gotta have it. I simply have to. Is it like church. It's a little bit like church, and you know I love church. I love to go to church with my family. Let me point out one mile the difference that I was going to Let's get back to no, no, no, really quickly. This is what I was going to mention. Um, whenever people pick the trouble it was, it was not as big as a novelty. I'm just gonna say, the New York crowd just goes. I felt that too. Maybe it's because there was a lot of writer types and actor types in the crowd who loved the tech right right now. Actually, I was kind of shocked even in the second set of five when somebody I can't remember who said should I do trouble or should I do my pre prepared? I was expecting just an uproar of so many people said prepared, and then I was like, oh, this is different. Yeah, it was great A titleman, I believe, yes, yes, I remember this moment um. Yeah, I mean, listen the differences between New York and l A do not stop. I love by the way that being said, the show last night was it was, it was, It was wonderful, and it really did for me being in New York. It really felt homie in a way where I was like, really pleased. I mean, I that's a show that that you could easily leave after you perform, do you know what I'm saying? And nobody did, like all fifty performers watched. I also like, I think like the performers doing this show, like we sensed a nervousness we were and that's it's so different from the first time we did it um in New York. Because I don't think anyone was Yeah, I forgot. Yeah, oh my god, look at this. My mom would like to face time or is that crazy? Um? HPP could cut this out. Honestly, doesn't work. Let's just see if this is gonna work. Okay, here we go. Hi mom, alright, so let me tell you something. We are recording a podcast. There's Darcy Carter. Mom, and there's Bowen and you are you are? Oh? Yeah, we catch Katrina Claritas. Yeah, you're on the podcast. Mom, mommy, mommy. I'm also Greek Kara Jannis Kara Jannis. Yeah, well what about Spinata? Yeah? What about black Lava? What about Yes? How are you do? You know what? That's what we're doing. We're doing Last Culture resta. Oh and there's my dad. There's my dad Rich You guys, I'm a big fan of your family and your son. She's never said a kind word about Chelsea in her life. She doesn't know Chelsea. Um, but this is your guys, Last Culture's podcast debut. Guys are on. He easily could have just hung up, but we're yes, Hello world. What are you guys doing today? Well, nothing, we're hanging out. We just wanted a pizza. They're just we justa y they're not seeing there. There was a discussion. There was a discussion when we ordered the pizza about whether or not New York Pizza was going to be a definitively better than La Pizza. However, we just had a good l a. Yeah, but you see, I'm on TV, so you see what I'm meaning. You didn't have the pizza she had. She had a pizza. That's true. Well, Matt, you are pizza boy. Well you are pizza boy. How are you guys? No, Matt, Now we have to stop. Well, just lately, it's got San Francisco in and mind your mother. Hey, look where that is? Look where this is? You know, yeah, big San Francisco area. Wait, what do you what are you saying? Say it again? I'm saying every commercial I see this guy San Francisco in and I play oh because we just saw a clusterfest and now I guess my dad is aficionado on San Francisco. That's right. Well that's good. If it's a bridge, I know what it is famously. Um alright, so briefly summarize your day and then we have to go. Okay, let's see. Oh, we went to the movies we saw we knew that was what did you give a brief review? Well, I thought it was good, but it wasn't exciting as um Oceans eleven. I liked the Vegas background, but you know, I'm all about women power and loved it. Yes. Oh and you guys saw her perform live too, Yeah, shout out to her. It was awesome. Yes, and even though you should have been able to expect the late twist, being it's an Ocean's movie, yeah, I didn't see it coming in, so that was fun. It was good. I thought they did a great job with it. Obviously a great cast, so how could it How could it not be? I thought it was good with a very fun cast and very fun movie to watch, rich In, Katrina ch Rich and Katrina. I'm going to pitch something. It doesn't have to be every episode, but I think you should do a Mom and Dad's reviews of movie culture. Well, it's funny that you say that because we just started on our Patreon. We started a new kind of Patreon episode we're gonna be doing called Matt and Our Cisco and Bit, So maybe we can get your feet I think you should. I think you should have you know, a weekly or a monthly. Yeah, that's a good idea. So you guys stay available. Okay, are you tech? Are you tech avail? He's tach Avail. Well, well we have kind of confirmation on Richard. We love you, guys, love you, Thank you. I'll call you back later. We can have a real conversation that's not performative. Oh my, good bye, by treat. Did that work, Brett? It worked? It tunny. You know, even if it didn't work, it works. Wow. That was that was. Now we know that they saw Oceans, which we also saw and I'm seeing it tonight. Oh wow. Okay, so I feel like there was a little bit of a spoiler that that there is a twist. Well, I listened to your am Ram episode, so I've fucking spoiled to death. Honestly, here's the deal. But you don't need it exactly. That's not why I'm going I'm not going through the twist. You know there's you will be. But what are you going for? I'm going for the women, Yes, women, I'm acting. Yes, I'm going for the Luke's. Yes, I'm not. You're not going to Ocean's date for the the intricately woven realized conflict. No, I'll if I get it, I'm pleased. But I'm going for the Sandy and the Kate and the fucking pulsing and and Helen and Indy. It's truly and let's never rule a culture number culture one hundred and Rihanna, this is a soup of words, but you're swimming in the soup at Ria. Did we wrap up? I don't think so we did absolutely. All I'll say is this, there was a nervousness amongst the performers, and I hope that this was a watershed moment for people that were maybe a little bit in their heads and just so you can get out there and scream, honey, there were a lot of really good trouballs, though. Can we shout out some of the good trouballs? Squeeze? How about Emily Schmidt's Paul McCartney died. You two are old pals for basketball together, but she really yes, we plan basketball team together for years. I love from you guys, but for a time as long as I've been in l A. And one time we had a um like a date with my parents because I knew my parents would love her, and I think my mom bought her like a like a um A designing Women Women. I can't think the actress is name Dixie Carter. No, the one with the most drama designing Women Delta Delta like memoir or something. Anyway, Oh that's fast, she was so I love that she got Paul McCartney. The thing that's so fun about the Trouble, which I'm sure you know if you listen, is that they're usually very beloved. You know, topics are people. So getting Paul McCartney for most people would be you know, very hard to do. But she went she went door, she went dark, and we will not spoil too much about it because the live episodes are not will not have come out before this, so just snow she picks Paul McCartney out and it's just like. Another one that I really liked was Louis Rtel Chelsea Clinton. That was he was amazing, That was fantastic. He has a very fast brain. I actually when he was done, I said to my sister Miranda himrith. I was like, I would watch him do ten in a row, controulballs in a row. I think it was like people. Yeah, yeah, he um did a very good one. And also there's his first pull. Yeah, and I don't want to spoil too much. I guess I'm gonna know. I want to I don't want to take that from me. There's okay, I'm just gonna say here, here's what I'm gonna say. The the instinct right off the bat, the thing to pick gone, I think was exactly the right. I totally agree it was face. Yeah. By the way, did you hear with and just said the face? He said her face? No, Louis, this is a light to where Lewis goes into the faces she makes at her she made out her mother's Okay, great, great great. Yeah. Well then I guess actually that shade on me or even thinking that you were saying something projective specific polls specific poll loved it and it works. It's always good to get specific. And that's actually a real culture number forty nine. Always good to get specific. That is actually very true what you say. We know we have an improv BA. Yes, we have an improv background. Two of us, more than one of us. But what do you even mean? I were not druggle. It was it was not your favorite. I never was able to get out of my head when he came to improv I was never I think if I did it now it would be better because I now I feel like very comfortable with myself. But I was having a hard time when I started taking inpro clas. This is when I was nineteen and I didn't know myself and I didn't know how to naturally kind of like be myself on a stage. And that's kind of rule number one, right, right, um, just have to be able to be natural and have a conversation with someone. At nineteen, You're like, I'm funny. I gotta be funny. I gotta show them that I'm funny or whatever it is, right, And I literally came out of the closet during my one oh one, which probably means like there's other things to focus on them, like doing a grounded scene. You know, I'd be it's a funny thing with improv because I'm like, go back to it, But also like why would you right at this point, I don't also that when I'm well into my fort and you know, not to say that people can't pick up whenever because we've seen the classes. We've seen the class. Yes, did you ever teach no? Dorijuana? No? I always had a hard I mean I coached, but I always had a hard thing with teaching improv that I couldn't quite wrap my head around, which is like I know the rules, but I have a hard time telling someone there doing it wrong. It's so sort of yeah, like like, um, what is what was a good word for it? It's orphous and it's also um, there's a good word that starts with a letter C. It's it's um No. It's like, wait, this is like a very easy simple word, but because what does it mean? What does it mean? Here's what it means. It basically means I think it's good, but someone else might not. Its subjective subjective, and it's subjective. Ye oh, I knew, we'd um, I agree with you. I coach characters and sometimes sketch, and that's something where it's kind of more like I'm comfortable because there's a scriptor we can go through it and jokes and everything, and I can give my perspective an opinion. But like in terms of improv that it is like there are different things that work for different and there's no yeah, yeah, you make it up as you literally make it up as you go along. You truly do right, So I could be like here's something like I feel like I had, Um, oh, nph is going to like call me out for saying like so much. Let me tell you something shady, shady bit that NPH is shade y have we had to run in with n pH d I not in not in this town, not in this town town well in New York. But he was totally nice. But also I have he you know, he's he's so rich and famous. That's what I'm saying. Like, I was a little nervous spoiler alert for um, I don't think so, honey, I go in on hard. And also I have a little bit of anxiety about it because you came up right after and you're I don't think so, honey. Was I can't believe we're all going to like talk about people on this podcast. Let's recorded, like people listen to it. And then I was like, oh, ship, I know, I kind of wish I was last right, just to kind of I mean, yeah, I love it. Yeah, why did we do this? Yeah? Yeah? But honestly, Neil, that was an arrogant thing to tweet out. It was, and but I think what the way Rachel called it out afterwards, None in none in her own tweet. But she she did this in interview JQ. She was like, um, you know, when you're when you have seven million followers, any unformed thoughts seems like a fucking gem, And so he probably thought it was like, because you get ten thousand likes on it, that's the thing that is kind of scary about Twitter. I agree with her what she said. It's like at a certain point, it's like you say something and like just because somebody likes it, you feel like, no, it was good. Yeah, if there's like to think about it like this, there's billions of people in the world, just you could be getting likes from the six worst people. Oh my, the six Who they are? You know who they are? And they know who they are? Six No, I'll tell you what's so sick about them is that they know who they are. Okay, here's the thing that is disgusting with the six. They know who they are. Them should be name them you will, I'll go around Okay, would you say one then? Dar? Okay? Um? Oh my god, yeah, I know Pam the words that the way that she is Pam. Pam also like has like a decent job, but she like will like rub it in your face. Yeah, I get you. You work at accounts payable, but at like a cool office whatever. No, I know she's the worst. Okay, so it's hard for me because we're friends. But Ashley, I don't even like when people bring her off. I know. But it's like, here's the thing. You are actually funny and smart and cool, So why do you put all this other stuff on it that makes us fucking hate? Yes, seriously, seriously, I agree with you. I agree with you, Alright, I'm gonna say it. Kim Jong Kim my god. And he knows he's just doing it's about power and it's really disgusting and honestly, like he's really corrupting people who aren't evil but just so fucking dumb and like it's crazy. It's just crazy to say. Okay, and now here's the thing I was going to say, Stalin, So this bid is now done because you went to the top, meaning like like you know what, I don't want to tie you can with you. And also the three of them, we didn't they know who they are. It's actually okay, um, let's edit this to just every time we said six, just say three. Yes, let's get some clean like for second, I think we got it. Okay, so ready three oh wait, let's clean. Okay, so three the three, three, three the three, and I'm gonna just do three the three. Okay, good job, very good. We all gave you, know, emotional opjects totally. I love that. Yeah, I really love that. Okay, So I also I have nothing, but I also just want to say, and I felt I've thought this before. You think you don't think of yourself as an improviser, but I actually think on this podcast, you are a fucking wonderful thank you very much. Like I'm hearkening back to the Patty Harrison episode, you are a yes ending queen. I love to y. Can I tell you? That's what I'm saying. I think if I started to do it now, I think I'd be rather good, yea rather good, yea rather good. I'd be rather good. I always second guess my words because I don't know my words, but my heart I know that I know that that's a roll culture. I do know that let's put it on a on a T shirt. But honestly, like honestly honestly, but not honestly. UM, I just feel like, yeah, the reason I was so bad at is because I was in my head like I've never felt the way I felt before my Lloyd audition. The blood left my feet. I wanted to die and also it went to my penis. Okay, mommy, Daddy, gonna listen. Can say on this episode they have seen me do much worse. Um, but literally I had just like slayed a Mode audition like they did, like an invited Lloyd callback and I was invited to do it, and I was like, oh no, They're going to see me be literally the least funny person in the world, and confirmed I was. I also think that it's like maybe a misconception that all funny people can do all the funny things like writing, acting, improv sketch. It's like they're different. Yeah, they're totally different. It's weird. I think it's weird that like there's the Harold and that's what they do it you seeb, and then there's a Mode which is like all sketch, you know what I mean. So it's like, did you do both both? Yeah? Did you like the Harold as a form um? Occasionally when it worked it was like magic, and when it didn't, felt like you were insane? And yeah, yeah, exactly like you. You couldn't make like a fucking something fit into another thing, another square. You can make one square, yes, you can make one. Yeah, you can make it, make one spet. But you are an improviser. Yeah, but he was so good for so many years and then you stopped doing and I stopped, And now do you think you can't because you can't. I did the last the last improper show I did was like all queer, like all queer improvisers, mostly queer audience. Like it was like everything was set up for success and it was fine, and I was like, if I can't even like if I can't even feel great about not great, but like what am I doing? Sure? Although it's like a great, it's like you know, it's it's a it's a lot of people's gateways, it's it was mine, and I feel a little it's it's complicated. Do you usually slept sure? Maybe? Yeah? Sure? I mean also being slept on is maybe a blessings when it comes to like later, I don't know, yeah, because I have a contract with them for a hundred fifty years years. Yeah, I'm signed with you. You got to figure out I'll probably die in like two three years to think. So yeah, your soul is you know why? Because I always text and walk yeah and walk upstairs. Well, you know whatever, I just improv. It feels like a young man's game. But I don't know. If it makes you feel good, do it. It's not too late. I sometimes go through, especially when I'm shooting. She can't stop talking. But I have a hard time, like sort of my I get a little brain dead. So I do less improv shows, and then a month will go by, or two months will go by. Even this last weekend I did an asked cat and I hadn't done it in maybe two months, and I got nervous before where I was like, you remember, do you? Is there a lot of room for improv on the Good Place set? There is? It's a it's a it's sort of a weird answer because there is room for it, but we don't do it almost at all, Like when I say room. Actually maybe it's because wait, let me rephrase, there isn't really room for it. It is allowed, and I'm sure nobody would would mind. The writers would love it, make sure would love it. Nobody's telling us not. But it's it is a suit. It is so tightly scripted what I was thinking, we almost don't change a fucking thing, because what's like the butterfly effect if you that's part of the sister dren and then like and then it's on a like a fast track to storytown, right, fast tractor storytown. As soon as you mentioned John, right, do you feel that as you shoot more and more and more that you are liking it more and more and more, that it becomes more of a family every single day, like you can't wait to raise your kids on the set and the words of Pat Regan, Oh yeah, and the words of anything in the words of Pat Regan, um so meaning do I like this? I'm loving it? I'm fucking loving it. I had, I had. I was talking to a friend, Okay, find my trainer. Oh my god, it's culture number. I was talking to my friend my trainer the way what happened in your eyes when you were like my friends? I was like, who was what if my trainer was just me saying m apostrophe trainer and I was actually talking about making train and trainer anyway. She was like, are you are the days? Like does it? Does it get old? Basically She's like, you must be so busy and so tired and blah blah blah, and I was like, no, dude, it's fucking great because I don't know, it's really I do think it's really easy to complain about being on a set. It's a weird thing that we've either all done or have heard, and when it comes out of my mouth, I feel like because you just you just think, like where would I rather be? I'm trying, this is what I'm trying to do, and yeah, think of like any other job you've ever had, So I um truly deeply, like I don't mind the five am wake up call, wake up call, wake up call from my fucking alarm cloth up. I think, yeah, that's the wake up call. Like there's there's no the long days if we're if we add an extra scene to the end of the night and it pushes the night longer, like I don't give a funk. I never do never, And I and and the pas and everybody are very apologetic because actors can be psychos. And I'm always like, we're fine, Yeah, this is great. This is where I've always wanted to be and I'm here, so I'm good. Sometimes do you give me free food? Sometimes I'll be in like a like a mindset like that, and I'll see another actor like kind of like being crazy, and I'll go out of my way to like do they wear yourpootois for them? And be like where so we have a having a really good ye totally. Yeah. I also like being on a set. It's like the actors are treated like kings and queens or babies either way, like they're treated like little tiny puppies and there it's insane and to complain about anything is hilarious because everybody else on the set is doing so much more than you are, and they got there before you did. Even if you is so right right you're called him as five am. Guess what the other people got there at fucking four thirty or four o'clock or I was gonna say, I was gonna say three oh coluct on the morning. Okay, three oh coluc on clock on the morning to you. But also like y'all have like a great cast, like oh my god, cast you and you and Kristen doing that Instagram live. I could have watched that for decades, a decade watching We'll do more, you know more, she is heaven on Earth. Yeah, you said that you said that in your last episode, and I was like, really, thank god, yeah, because she seems that way. And there's a lot of celebs and we've just met a bunch of celebs over the past, and some of them when they come in and you're like, oh, that wasn't that was what I wanted. I want to say most but they're not that we don't knowwe us anything. But it's wonderful when Kristen Bella is ones and there's there. I just I there are not enough words. I fucking adore her. She is such a good such a good person. But I also think like her image is sort of squeaky clean. It's she's like funny. She's so funny and dirty and real and down to earth and she's just she's like number one. She's amazing. We put her on a dream list of people that we want to have on this podcast. I think that's impossible. I don't think. And that's why we put her on the last because because I wish you had an inn, I wouldn't dare put you in that position. All the next Instagram line, I'm just gonna I'm gonna be commenting and never stopped right and then I'll be like, oh, this is this is actually funny. This is my friend Matt Rogerson. This is so crazy. Um, I do this podcast with them occasionally once a year, once a year when they when they fly through. Yeah, I mean you're so busy about like it would be such a gag if you did it. Yeah. She was on the wish list, um, and was on the way Yeah. These are two podcast queens and podcast que I mean I guess she's married to a podcast queen meaning, but these are two podcasts podcast people. That's why I put them on there. And there are other reachers. Michelle Visage from Well we interviewed her Ultra fest and and she was wonderful. Start yeah, start sucking going nuts on this. Just you guys have a thing. It's a fucking thing in the fucking world. People are coming out for it. You gotta treat it like, yes, go for it, go for it. I'm also I understand being like I don't want to put someone out, but like go for it. And also to be honest with you, like there's a thing of like like when we interviewed Margaret Show, like she's like a hero of mine here and I find that I'm bad on those episodes like you, you're in your head a little right, because it's not my friend I'm talking to. It's like someone that intimidates me deeply. Well, you know that maybe we'll go away with time or maybe not. I mean, I hope when I become a huge star, when I become very famous, like oh, I don't know, Tom Cruise a cruise are us? Yes? When he married yeah, of course, when he married Penelope and then with her sister, those things, both those things happening. Um, I will probably be so famous that I'll be able to talk to anyone, even Glenn Close. Can I can I ask you a medical question? Yes, a medical question? Medical question? Metal, I always okay. I don't know how you were. So here's the thing, like Matt and I, we were not necessarily equipped to interview celebrities in a way that is specific to like real journalists, real journalism. We are to whatever and so you know what I mean, actually major in poop to scoop with a major with a minor And do you okay? And then I just feel like I sometimes I don't know how you felt. Mat. I'm gonna I'm gonna give you some tea. You can speak for me. I'm not saying I'm not speaking for you. I'm saying I don't know how you if you felt this way during all these these you know, these crazy interview press room days. I was like, I feel like the biggest jack asked just I don't think these poor people like the dumbest question. Well, because we came up with all the questions and we don't know what to what to ask. And then I don't know if you know about this, but we got into a little bit of drama with it was so weird and then they should talk to us on the talk, right, It was so freakish. Yeah, and we were like why or why is this happening? We didn't even we don't even do this right, So my question to Darcy is like, what is I don't know, I don't even know. We'll just say what do you feel? And then we'll talk about it. Yes, remember when I couldn't come up with the word, yes, subjective, do subjective? But with this question, okay, okay, speaking what is like? What is your least? I don't know, but this is a shitty question. It's loaded. Ask it and then we'll say what is it? To you, what is like that Underbilly? What like why why do we feel shitty on the other side, and of course the other person feels shitty too. It's like why, why why does this thing happen where the publicists come in and like tell you what to say and like what is that? Well, okay, it's hard because I did. I also did what not as cool as what you guys have been doing, but I did, like what are they called junket? I was interviewed, and it was it was a terrible day of my life. It was like I there was all these things swirling around in my head, like I was interviewing actors in from this movie. I don't even should I even say the names. It doesn't matter. There's anything called the Orange, which was like Aliah shock at and and and the cute guy from from the O C And like um um right there, yeah, Alison, Janny, like all these people that this Hugh Lorri like all these people that I look up to, and also I want to work with. I want to it's the same. Tell me if this makes sense. When I worked at a restaurant and somebody famous would come in that I was a fan of, I would never tell them I was an actor. I never had anything other than here's your soup, because I was like, this is not the way this is going to happen. Yes, I want to be I want to meet you when i'm your friend on a set with you. I don't want to meet you by telling it's it's a hard thing because it's hard because it's not it's not a guarantee. It's like, right, well, and and you interviewing someone, unless it's maybe your own talk show, it feels like you're it feels like you're putting them out. It feels like you're like begging for their time. It just sucks. By the way, all that being said, the way you guys do it is right, well, that's what the Vulture who who is great Bay the way this is like we love Ulture and they told us like, we want you guys to be yourselves interviewing them because they wanted like a fun take on the whole thing. And so what we do is we go in there and we be ourselves. Now that I think to these people coming in most of the time goes great, but sometimes there's this situation where you can't really read the person. And with Tracy he was hard to read because we thought maybe we were getting like Tracy Morgan the persona. And he came in and he's like kind of like a weird, odd, eccentric guy. And so we asked a pretty you know, benign question, which was um Bone called him the star of the Last o G and then he was like, I'm not the star. It's not like that. So what it was before we even brought up Tiffany that he was just like, I don't want to have this conversation. And then it turned into this beautiful meditation on set life and yeah, it was great, and it seemed loose, and then he's like, you know, we have to we have to turn the attention to everyone. And I said, well, how has it been watching Tiffany? How to Shplowa? Did you know her from before? And she said, he's like, no, we're not going to talk about Tiffany. Do you know that this was referenced in her Holly Would Reorder article today? Yes, and so someone's Jesse David Fox Advulture sent it to us and she, I mean, her response, I think is like, so it's so it's measured, but it's also yeah, it's telling that it's measured. She's just like you know, like it's just like I don't care or like it doesn't get to me because that's just Tracy being Tracy, which is great, and like I respected him for so long. It's it's just weird getting like it's weird that this Like it's just weird that it happened to me. So I just I just don't really, I'm like having this weird reckoning with like, is this like what you like as far as you mean like doing this job? Yes, yes, yeah, I mean well there's a thing of like you get the opportunity and because we're both now we're both now entirely freelance, like you don't say no no money, and and then you get there and it's like, um, you really want to represent who you really are? And I think for the most part we do. But then the poll that like gets like the attention is like this weird thing where we can look bad and I look at the video and I feel like I look insane because I'm doing my performer thing of not in my head and flapping my foot and dapping my dapping and you know that thing we all say, And I'm like, oh, I look insane because I'm not supposed to do that. It's it's a weird like every sucking god, I mean, do we learn from every interview I've done every what, every like audition, every photo shoot, everything like that. I always talked to either of my husband Jason Hija, oh, my manager Justin Hi Justin afterwards, and at some point in the conversation, I'm like, well, you live and you learn. It's like I now know not to say it like that right now, No, not to phrase a thing like that or do this pose or whatever. It's like, we're just figuring it out as we go, and this is not career defining for you guys, know it was it was like it was like a little one of those weird little explosions when you're like, but it's it's nothing, It's gone. I mean literally, who cares. It just was this thing of like a few days where I was like, oh, Julie Chech just called us inappropriate and disrespectful, right, which, of course you know you're not, and also I'm so respectful that and mostly appropriate. But then you just feel like it's a little out of your hands when somebody on a TV show is saying you know, it can feel very like, well, now what do I do? Like I have to defend myself, but yours are doing everything right. Everybody loves you, everybody as we have everyone. Not Kim john Houn, not anymore after this podcast, and yes I called her her, not after we fucking took down the three three three. But anyway, I don't know that was that was like a little weird, a tiny weird moment. But then you realize that that happens millions of times a day every day with like the news cycle and the sensationalism of the media, and maybe maybe more now than ever, right right, like a big I mean a trillion, a big fat trillion, But I mean people even talk about this with don't say his name, but the president and everything like how quickly things happened, huge things happen. You fucking forget that. So you know, anyway, that wasn't even what you wasn't even a bad short. It wasn't even bad. You don't love it, but it wasn't even It wasn't And you know what, I'll say that my manager and my husband, this is my question. He found it, I found it. Subject call that horror. So what is the thing that that, if anything at all, what is the thing that gives you discomfort being on this side of things now on the like interviewed, I think it is having my words being taken out of context, being afraid because I'm like being I don't know, a funny like a community want to and spoiler alert, but like my even my um my, I don't think my draintmaker trainer, but I don't think so honey was kind of telling of where I'm at right now. Like I know I was joking, but it's also like I'm afraid to say the wrong thing and have someone come for me or someone I'm a little bit of a people pleaser in real life, and that doesn't like go away when more people know your name. Um So, I have found that I really you have a hard time reading back interviews that I've done. I feel like I sound dumb, and I feel like I sound like that's not really what I meant. You wrote it this way, but that's not how I And the headline that they put on is always like a headline to get people click and you're like, oh god, that was not like what I came there to say, yes, And then also then I get in my head, doubly because I'm like, I'm spinning out about this, but literally no one cares, right, And then I'm like, who do I think? I Am like, it's easy, you know, it's it is a mobia strip of panic. Yeah yeah, yeah, um yeah No. I constantly am worried about that, and especially because now, like literally there's hundreds of hours of us talking right right right forever, like forever and really and it's just like it's just out there and posterity, which is freaky paper. It's so freaky hpp. What are the ways that theoretically if we wanted something laughing crying because of my voice? What do you say if we wanted something theoretically completely white white? It's like like like robbed no trace? How much would that cost? Who do we pay? It's free, It's that's so nice. I just mean like off the internet or off of one of these episodes. And no, I'm just saying, like we need to dredge every fucking corner right delete the podcast. That's what we're saying. I want a new identity. I need to get a new identity. Some sometimes I think about that. I'm like, this might be a measure that any of us have will have to take some day. You know. What's what's always makes me sad is people say, I'm catching up on the podcast. Wow. Different times. It's like that before the election, when we talked a lot about how Hilary was like totally going to win, like it was going to be so fucking excited, and like like literally there's like a two episode um period where Donald Trump had just one and I feel like everyone's voices that we were depressed. We were depressed. It was, and that lives and honestly, it's a beautiful time caps it is. It is. It is because pre election that was a different feeling in the world now. Honest Actually, the thought of going back to a podcast and listening to a pre Trump is almost too much to bear. It's too much to bear. I can't do it. It's unbearable. It's actually unbearable. It's unbearable. Actually, it's more than I can bear. Yes, yes, far more than I would wish to bear. You know, bone, there's no one on the planet like me. Yeah, I'm talking to you. Sorry. I was thinking about how there's no one on the planet like me. You know, there's no one on the planet like either of us or you at home listening. And here's my question, Because there's no one on the planet like you, why would you buy a mattress that's built for just anybody. You don't want a mattress that's built for everyone else. They get their own gig and it's all, you know, two gigs in one mattress. Basically, they you take this sleep quiz and it's just a two minute thing, and then you have the mattress of your dreams. I took the quiz. It was so pretty to take. I love the colors, I love the fonts, I love the call to actions. I loved the bullets, radio buttons. You know. I'm not kidding. No, this is a huge deal. I legit might actually put in this U R L and one more time. That is he looks Sleep dot Com slash Last Culture rests, I'm on the market for a new mattress, baby, and I love me I personalized mattress. God. He looks Sleep dot Com slash Last Culture Rest for your intensely personal and the beautiful darling mattress experience. Go forth, can I ask? Because? Okay, so speaking of press, you are getting some press. I saw you in a picture with all the supporting actions and you know why. You know why they did it because it's emy season. People are making their their voting for their ballots. And so here's the thing. Did you ever imagine that you would be like an Emmy contender. No, but I'm not. I mean, I'm not, I'm not. Like, but absolutely when you get enough notices where it's like scenes steeler scenes, steeler scenes steeler, like that's and and obviously like you know, you're on a show that's a hit and has gotten like critical you know, award attention in the past, that that floats through the mind, and then they invite you to come be in the picture, right, and you go to an event for it, it's like, oh my god, Yeah, it is a little bit like, oh my god, it's it weird, it's weird, it's weird, it's mostly weird. It's really sweet as sweet as a dumbward like flatter. It's yeah, it's surreal and every you know, year, I look at that Hollywood reporter everybody and like, who is that? It's yeah, those type of things are just so uh nice. Yeah, like it's so goddamn nice and it feels so good. But also the second you like get wrapped up in it in any way, fucked right. Right, It's what Amy says, and and yes, please write where she's like you want them. It's the pudding. She's like I don't want favorite book, I don't want putting in, and then you want yeah, right right, and you feel bad about it, and then you're like, wait, hold on, I'm supposed to be one of the cool people who doesn't care about the ship and knows that it's like an industry, right, you know what I mean. So it's like, but you can't help it, I know. Well when people start saying it or telling you or whatever, then you're like, but but I think you just gotta think. Ted Danson said some something cool what was that cooling onto, which is like, you don't want to win? Like I'm going to paraphrase, but he was basically like, you want to be the underdog so that people say they should have been nominated and they should have won. You don't want to win, and then have them say why didn't they win? Want you want to be in the Elizabeth Moss position where you lose every time, and therefore then when you win, it's like finally an event and everyone stands, yeah, right. You don't want to be the person who wins, and everyone's like, okay, I guess, so you want to be the person that they leave to their goddamn that's actually a real culture number seventy nine. You want to be the person that they damn feet. Yes, that is so true. Maybe all maybe all maybe we all maybe all win an Emmy. And speaking of winning an Emmy, we're talking to the antagonist of an Emmy for Megan. Now, forget your Emmy chances. This is someone who really has a shot at the goal. Now, tell us about what it was like to be on set with Megan, and um, how are you feeling about her chances going forward? And what's the energy life. It's really because it's like I, you know, we were friends and I was happy, and then I murdered her. It's like this weird thing of like I still remember what it was like to be her friend and for her, but then also I'm like, but then I think to that sort of like animal instinct of like murdering her because she had to go at that point. Of course, but we have to mention it's fiction. It's outstanding short from digital comedy or drama has to be fictionalized, has to be heavily scripted. Your episode was heavily scripted. Yeah, yeah, yeah, such good writing in the episode. M We have a favorite line I did improvise one line? Yes, our favorite is Um did you like the script? Yes, yes, the way you say yes, period, even even we re wanted five times. Um, you say it was like reading Shakespeare. Megan goes, Oh my god, that is the such that is the biggest compliment. You think Shakespeare is good? Yeah, I think it was pretty good. You guys were killing It was favorite day, the funniest, so cute. We didn't know her from before we have recorded with her and now best, best, so lovely. What a freak we met at We met the year I moved here because Jen Statsy are mute. Friends invited Basically, I don't mean to stay invited. She had She said, who wants to go see Beyonce? And this is years ago when it was jay Z and Beyonce the first time? First, the first time, but at some point yeah, And so we met at a Beyonce concert, which is like a fun origin story story. And then I got weirdly drunk and I fell down after the concert. I don't like getting drunk to the point of falling down. But we're snuck in a flask of vodka, which is which is a move at a concert, because what do we pay for that, tell herself that met life we paid like you're gonna pay twenty It was it's a joke. But also you gotta suck it down. You gotta stack it down. At that concert, I had to be drunk to watch her parade out. But I'd be like, she's my best friend. It's like, no, she's your prop. You literally just want us to think you have a diverse group of friends. But honey, I don't think she better be careful. Pity so you fell down. H Yeah, yeah, I felt that, but it was okay. It was like it was. It wasn't like, oh god, dark serious. It was more like, oh wow, yeah it was so. Megan thought it was really fun. Megan got a migraine right after the show. It was a wild night. Show was also there, so it was it was Sarah Schneider, Jenn Statsky, Megan Amram and me. We had a great I know half the group so well to half of the group are my best friends and the other two I don't know. But the fact that they're such good friends with you makes me feel like, oh my god, I could hit it off. Jenn and Sarah. You would love gang coming for you. A girl I'll pick you up. Can I tell you my mortifying gen story. She's my wife, She's she's your wife. I acted a damn fool in front of her. This is two twelve, the Winter twelve Danger Box, my improv group and in my year went down to d C, I think with Hammer Cats Um and then she was there with Travis group, Travis Hellwicks group, and her husband now husband but they were dating at the time. But then the after party was this place in some person someone who went to GW's dorm. And then I just got really drunk. Oh, I was just basically I did. I committed the cardinal sin of being a fan, and I just went off. Oh no, I hate it. I was like, oh my god, I think you're so funny. I mean it was mortifying. No, it's great, it's great. I just think I'm just like I can never bounce back from that on her. I don't know, bitch. This is what happened. She slapped across She slapped me across the base. Note is mortifying. There was a foodsball table. People were playing foodsball. Travis was with Jen on one corner and then like Jen and I like, so we made eye contact, and then I was like, oh my god, that's that's Jens Statsky. She tweeted once. Um one of my favorite tweets a quote, Hey does anyone know where to get good? Hey? They're Delilah Ringtones attributed a rapist, and I think it's funny, so funny. Wait, I want to wait. Okay. One of my favorites of hers was Okay, James, it's so much better than I'm making it. James Vanderbeek walks into a doctor's office and the doctor says, okay, let's take a little vander Peek. You understand, but I mean truly an artist. And so we made eye contact. And then I had a friend I forgot who it was. Wow, I whispered to them, and then I literally pointed at her from across the table and was no, no, no. I wasted like that's jen Sta so fighting on Twitter, and then like jen and I shouted across the tables. I was like, oh my god, I am such an admirer of yours. Hpp is crawling under a skin. Ye keep going. I mean, that's that's it. She was. So she was so sweet about sweet. I bet it made her damn night. It's nice to hear nice things. I know, there's like a I know this fan thing. It's always a question. It's it's the it's the reason I I can't sleep at night when I think about the fact that I've taken a picture with Harry Styles. I never wanted to do that story, but even still, I was like, I know, I don't. It's so hard to do the fan thing. But also it's nice to be told you're good at the thing you're doing right, So she it's all good, Like it's when somebody says they love the show like love it's nice. I guess it all depends on the context or if the person is a fucking weirdo. I just feel like I believe in my heart that I was a fucking weird at that. Well, let's let's take back the night, take back the night. Well, now now she's we've given her lots of free so that now everyone can follow her on Twitter at jen Statsky, at Jensky. And guess what, we weren't paid a dollar, not a dollar, not a press not a dollar. Now that we're saying this, how insane was my dad before saying that he was a big Oh my god, he was so insane. But you're kidding, right, because I mean even if he like like what, oh my god, and you know he didn't know, he didn't know, he doesn't want my ready, he was ready, but he was ready to stay ready. Okay, that was really sweet. Actually I loved it. They're a legit fan. And here's the thing. An Emmy for Megan is going to skyrocket your profile this of Me season. And I said, it's going to help you in your own category because she was very shrewd and didn't give you enough episodes to be considered for her series because then there would be trouble. I really think she could definitely, I think she thinks she might. I don't really know what goes into it, but I'm like, did you see the other day when oh, this is another thing that I would say before Jonathan van Neesse like put on his Instagram sorry who is met? When he was driving past. Well, okay, so here's the thing. Here's the thing. We interviewed him at Vulture and with Justin Throw and we had we had a fun time with him. But then the other day your Wolf and he was coming by and ordinarily like I'd be like, oh my god, hi we interviewed you at Vulture Fest, but I think we were so like we didn't want him to know us as this said nothing, just let him walk by. And I don't think he recognized us anyway. But the thing is like, he's like, he's someone i'd like to be like, yeah, really best friends. But by the way, I've known him for years, Yes, you can explain that, and best. He had this um web series called gay and we clicked and then he was yes, but he is the best and he remains the best. He's so wonderful and good and fun, and you guys would get along. I feel that we would style the way he approached us just so so he was like hello, but like it was just a thing where we were like, oh, we're not going to reintroduce ourselves like this, And so I would like to meet him sitting in the chair you're sitting in right now as up here, Yes exactly. He I also liked when he so he it was a little shady, right, He's like, who is Megan? But thenogy or not even apology. His next Instagram story was like, Megan, your fans love you and then he's like whatever it was. It was really cute. It was like it was like, you know, it was Patrick Harris moment. It was so much better. It was he really was truly like he was curious. Yeah, he was getting curious, getting curious. Have you been on the pod getting curious? What would I even? What would I get curious about? About? What? What could I possibly teach? I'm okay, here's you. Wake up, You hop in the shower, comous, you come to set, You sit there with your moisturized face ready to be made up, and you go over your life. Okay, here's the here's the question I have. I also want to talk about Barry. Good Place, amazing environment, Barry. No, there's no tea. It's so fucking dumb. It is so dumb. They are they are the highlights of my life. It was at I actually shot season two of Good Place and season one of Barry at the same wo right after I think, ye few months, which was bonkers as you can imagine, and leading up to it, I was like, well, I've already I mean, I don't think. I was like, well, I guess I was about to say, how am I going to like Barry as much as the Good Place? I wasn't even thinking because experience. And then it was so equally blessed slash you put blessed in my mouth, don't, don't put so I would. It just was like a dream team to dream teams for different reasons, like the way the acting class in Barry fell in love with each other. We wouldn't we'd be wrapped and we would stay for two hours in the makeup room just like screaming and laughing and singing. It was very summer Camp. And then like there's different vibes, but I can't there, I truly if you put a gun to my head and please don't, I think that's a good idea. I couldn't pick what I like better. They are so fun and so just that the environment isn't incredible and um, to work with man like Ted Danson and to work with a man like Henry, it's like the pudding or whatever, you're true or false. If Barry felt like summer Camp is the good place, the best school, yes, yes, it's like maybe like um, you know, I don't want to say theater school because theater school can be having connotation, but it's like the yeah you're you're the university that you're so yeah you you you wanted to go to this university and you got into this university. From from your Instagram, it looks like you knew everyone on the cast of Barry before. The weird thing is is that we so okay, do you like Timeline stuff that I love Timeline. So before the pod started recording today, we were talking about booking. But we're talking about and I was saying that I never ever booked jobs. This is true, Okay, I never booked joy but I I auditioned constantly or as much as my I can get, but I never booked. I when I got the good place, I got buried within the same month, I know what a month. So so that seems like, um, like I book all the time. You understand what And I'm also not twenty one. I'm deep. I'm deep, deep much more, much more, deep, much more and um and uh so so so so I have. So that's how long I've known known the Verry cast. We did read throughs immediately we Henry taught the acting class and like an to three hour long acting class on the day we all met. Can you imagine, yes, improv acting everything like Henry himself got it. That was like it really I'm telling it was summer camp. It was like Bill and alec Berg tried to just I don't know why or how they knew to do this, but they were like they just made us love each other instantly there. I mean they yeah, they are really into like the cast dynamic and us loving each other and it and it works. That's and that's what I'm saying. Like I watched like the Instagram stories that you guys post because I think I'm I'm also Instagram friends with writer and we've never we've never met, but I know I love the energy. I love the energy. Um. But it seems like you guys all know each other in a real way. Like I was like, oh, those are people that all knew each other beforehand. That's like that's carried onto it's not beforehand. Other than I nave Kirby just from UCB, but not that well at all. She is amazing. She is she is Oh my god, she makes me emotional. I love her. So we got to get her on the can I well, can I quickly say what she told me last night? So spoiler alert, um. I as as a way to exemplify what a trouball draw was, I did my I don't think Sonny. I couldn't believe I was thinking about her when you yes, and I was saying about her too. I even name dropped her on mind. Um but but Matt drew Sandra for me, and I said that was going to be a good exact and I was all over the place just like, couldn't find something watch onto But um so, anyway, did my thing on, did my thing on Sandraw. But then Kirby stops after after the show and she goes by when I need to tell you this, I need. I knew I had to tell you this before the show, but the fact that you did your thing on Sandra was crazy. I have to tell you that. She pushed so hard for my part to not be another like white British actress great, and she was like and like like like the direct like the director, and everyone was like, Sandra, we need to move on, we need to start shooting. We can't set this the schedule behind and Sandra was like, no, keep auditioning, keep auditioning the Brits in l A. I need to see every we need to see everybody, like we need to see everyone. And by the way, who could be better in that role than Kirby. Have you I've seen so I'm waiting. I know what's done now and I want to bench it. But I've watched its affect Jason. Hi, Jason, right, he never listen Jason worked or whatever. Jason worked on it. No, no, no, no no, he would ever when we were watching it, he would always rewind her scenes. And he's a bit about acting, yes, but he was like, oh my god, watch what Kirby does in this scene. Anyway, I love Kirby to death. I fucking love her. I uh and I have a big um scoop and t and everything for you guys. Oh my god. Only because it's a spoiler and they will find out. Okay, yes, yes, yes, will they find out. They will. They'll just be living in pop culture, bitch. Really quickly. Have to go back and reference a joke that Darcy made earlier that I think is truly iconic. Um, if you were, if you were to put a gun into my head and please did, Yeah, I did, improviser. That's world building that. Yeah, you got to fill it out, fill it out. But he's an improviser, you guys. I really feel very happy that you guys think that, Yeah, you really are, because honestly, for so many years of my life I put so much importance on that, and I felt so uncool that I wasn't able to improvise, like being in comedy and not being able to do improv and at the time like not being able to do stand up at all. I was just sketch. I was like, I feel like a like a wolf and sheep's clothing. I totally understand when your skills are not put in the box. Go back and listen to your episode with Patty the second one second something, and I think this is crazy. I'm gonna miss this. I listened to that episode three times. It is the fucking funniest thing. She kills me. Yeah, I so you know how I said Jason doesn't listen to podcast and he really doesn't, or he doesn't listen to comedy podcast, no shade to any of these. You need a break sometimes, I think, when it's your life, you need a break. But he um um. I made him listen to the tour story, Oh my god, out of context. I made him listen to the whole thing, and he was He was definitely into it. I think she's the next Sarah Silverman, like that level. Yeah, I think that big, that level, that new that crash, the set that she did clusterfust Joe Kim Booster hosted a show called The Joy Fun Club, and it's it's sometimes it's it's frustrating to have a hot friend. It's frustrating to have like especially someone that's like exorbitantly hot and like it seems effortlessly hot. Yeah, maybe not, I don't know, but I mean for goddamn shoulders in those tanktops. Then last night last night, he was like, I'm having a breakdown. I don't think I look good tonight. I'm like, bitch, where you talking? I have an I have acne. I have an acne. I have an acne. He was being a dumb bitch. Yeah. So she um like essentially just did crowd work for eight minutes. It's like her dumb character and like I was just like this is something that I could watch for. Yes, it's endless. She she is cultured. I love her. Have you met her in person? Yes? And we met doing um this other podcast called um oh Way Positive America. But it's not that Yeah out that breath, I love love it early, but we I she was a guest and I was doing like a character, so to speak, and I we it was one of those I like the meetings where you kind of come in like like that, and then we kind of quickly became like you know, d M friends tast friends. When you texted all of us and said I listened to the app, I thought, oh, they must be friends, right what we are? You have a vibe of Whenever I see you with your chemistry with your people around you, I think, oh, they must be friends. I'll tell you what I like, what I like, and when I like them, like them, and when I don't like them, I don't want to see him ever agaver again, but I'll act like I like him. I like to be in charge of I like to be in charge of that. Do you think you're good at doing that? I think it's a skill I have, and such a good skill you guys. When I was a little kid, I asked my dad one time. I said to my dad, as he was putting me to bed, do you think it's okay if I say I love myself? What a little cocky You figured it out well before the rest of us. Wow, If you can't love yourself in the hell, you're gonna love somebody else. But the reason I say that is just because what I said was really cocky. Sometimes I have a little bit it wasn't. My dad raised me to be very cocky and and think that that I am better than people. What's your dad's name? Dennis and William Mustafa, Eric and Dennis Erican, God bless you for you? Can I tell you what I'm singing inside my head? What you know the RuPaul's song? I am American American? If you were a little you could have sang and Eric and Erican and I don't. But I really I you're only gonna get that from us. Yeah, that's that's the Times Squares stomping song. I would say, Oh, my Time Squares stomping song is hair, my Lady Gaga, that's a good one. It's great. Mine is usually waiting for life to begin from once on this island. And that is not a joke. And it's also not like a fierce song. It's like musical theater. But does hair? Hair starts clumping right? I don't know hair? Oh you mean, lady gavea hair? It starts with like like Clarence Clemming. That's the course I was I'm sorry. I did the instrumental where it's like the Clarence Clem. You know what, I think her her best song for stomping is and I think that underrated song is rude shoot hurts. Yes, that is a great God those first three years, it was Our Pup three that was the third album, right, So no, I mean I don't I don't even I know Our pap was sort of like underwhelming to most people. I don't even hate it. I just it didn't grab me. But it's you know it now, it's this thing is happening where it's aging. Well, A couple of my faves would be, I mean, applause, kills life, gipsy ships. Also, I will say Donna Tella, yes as fashion venus. I don't love g u Y, but at the time I didn't like it. Now I think I like it. Yeah, I do think it's aging. Well, I totally agree. But those first two point five or whatever you one top to bottom bottom and then and then then Joe and what do we think Stars Born trailer. I got to watch it a million more times. I've only watched it twice, but I mean I'm thrilled when I when it came out. I think I caught it right when it came out and I just cut and paste, like, oh my god, watched this to like ten people. Yeah yeah, No, I like, I truly move, but it's going to be I don't, I really really really in my in my old age, don't like getting over excited for movies because we're so often disappointed. But with this one, I really am like it's going to be my favorite. No, I'm gonna will it to my movie, even if it's doesn't exactly have that. I just feel like there's nothing more I love than And also I grew up with the movie Funny Girl, so I think that's an association with that movie. But I love like a story where you see like a transformation over time and like it looks like it's going to be very that, Like it's going to start out with her looking like quote unquote younger and like um in her one thing, and then she transforms into someone else, and then she has to look back on her life and said, what have I become? I need I need it. You know, if it's not our favorite movie, do go ahead and put that gun into my head? Oh all the way home and then get it on the and then how you do that so much easier than I will jump in and say, guys, no, I don't just take care of you that don't die. Oh no, bang bang into the room. But I'm going to bang. Okay, I think it's time. So we actually said before in the text thread that you guys weren't privy to last culture racist listeners, that we weren't. Because you guys aren't on the text thread, are they not? We should put the mind I think it would get kind of crazy. Um, we are going to do all trouball, I don't think so, honey today, And just to put just to like preface, I guess I am terrified of the Trouball. I didn't want I didn't even consider doing the trouball because I'm not a good ranter and I'm not. But meanwhile, you're a good improviser and that's and that's why I felt that you were a contender to do the Troullball because you have the improv Okay, well let's maybe it'll work out. But also but I'm a I'm a word stumbler. I'm a can't get the thoughts out. That's what UM cut this part out what was his name, Louis Okay, when he when he troubled, don't you know, have to put it out? But I do, actually do No, don't do it. Just text him and tell him I said it, and tell him the minute and second so that he can just really feel out. I mean, now we can't cut it out because it's a great comedic moment. I don't know that he listens to them, but also busy. It almost doesn't matter because he was so I mean, I have already complemented him. He listen, it's not positive for the podcast. Yeah, but when HP is laughing, look at him chuckling when he troubled, and it sounded like he had said it a million times. It was like, that is a skill that I do not have. Babe. You're preaching of the choir. We are, and we're always I think, honestly, this school, I would say, we're supposed to be like the connoisseurs. So honey, everyone's I was like, oh, I guess they must do the best. I would. I would rank myself last night, like I'm going to put myself at like thirty nine. Come on, yeah, I was like a good four. Now because you broke your own rule. You you you you you literally did what you said you weren't gonna do. I actually, which is twist twist, like why did you leave me? Because you're so good there? But I couldn't believe we pulled that off. I didn't blame it. What are you gonna do? Talk about Sandra that you guys are going to have a lavish lunch. Um. But I was a little disappointed in mind. But that's only because I had prepared another one and prepared it, but then Iron Madison the Third did it on so I just decided to make it part of my interest. I could be longer and bitchier. It's time for the ecose you do. It's time for okay, so how are you gonna do this? Because you don't have an actual bull. So here's what I think we should do clockwise and I'll look through the list and I'll pick one. O wait, so that you pick one for me, I'm gonna pick for you. You You pick one for Darcy Darcy pid, one for okay bang bang okay, but one yang your I don't think so, honey, trollaboll. Topic is Ellen page and your time starts now. I don't think so. Honey, Ellen Page, how dare you come out of the closet after you peak? That is so feckless and Craven, I can't believe you would. The timing is a little suspicious, Honey, Ellen Ellen, I don't think so, Honey. You you know, come storming into this scene. That's textbook, you know, getting the nomination a little too early, don't, wouldn't you say? But I did love her in juno. But then but then she followed up with what that that roller that roller Derby movie, Hwip Berry More whipp It Drew Barry murchiroc. And I actually support it fully, but Ellen Page that the timing of the of the coming out is a little suspicious. We could have we needed you before marriage equality, you know what I'm saying. I think she came out after, but we needed you before. But you know what I think, I think, come, I truly love you, But I think that my my one little little um little spot, my little no no coming out. And that's one minute. I do agree that it was suspect, but everybody comes out in their own and I don't mean I only lift her up and I don't shame your I don't think so honey, because thank you. You know we're there's literally no shame. No, there's actually no shame. There's actually no shame. To see there's one on this that's screaming at me, and it's just like, but it's so it's so on the nose. But Darcy would have so much fun with it and like not have to worry about saying something. I think we can go for. I think, okay, than is it gonna be? Is it gonna be too much? Okay, Darcy cardon your trouble. I don't think so, honey. Is Kristen bow okay? I don't think so, honey, Kristen Bell. Are you think you can have this fucking perfect empire? You do it all. You make us look like ship. You come to set with your lines memorized. You have two perfect children, you have a loving husband, you have new Regina, you have this bar saves lives, which is a great and meanwhile, I have a goddamn dog and I live in a two bedroom apartment. You make me look like a fucking and then you have the nerve to be one of my best friends. You bitch, Kristen Bell. I don't think so, honey. I love you, I will for you're both broke in the room. We did for me. I don't even know what it is. They're getting dragged. That is so funny. I definitely thought Kristen was going to come up last night and I was gonna I had her. I did, Okay, so you're the writer, A writer or star of the show would pull her. Oh, actually I have one. I have a great Okay, okay, you'r um your topic. Wait your I don't think so, honey, is as I call it, the fabulous Mrs Mazie, but it's actually called the Marvelous Mrs Mazel last start. Now, I don't think so, honey, marvelous Mrs Mazel. I am friends with Rachel brother the hand. But guess what, I still didn't even get through the whole first season. Honey. It wasn't because of the quality. Is because I got busy. I thought it was a very good show. No I'm not, but I feel that, um, oh my god, it's so well done that makes other shows because bad, Honey, you are not allowing other shows to show. I will say this, this is real, Like, is it the funniest show out there? Like? I don't think it's the funniest shout there. So when it wins comedies, it's like kind of like, I don't think so honey, or like like awards for comedies. I think it's like that gray area thing. So I don't think so Honey, it's being considered like a comedy. It's not like a laugh out laugh funny. It's so we get that she's good at stand up, and yes the jokes are funny, but it's like, you know, it's not a comedy comedy, but I do love a second and I think that you will win the in real way for that. M I don't think so Honey Awards shows right now, in this moment that are that are putting there. We need one more like category. I feel like also comedy or something. Honestly, I think they should split it up into just half hour an hour because that makes more sense of me, right because right now it's like you have like like I don't know, like like, for example, a little while they're like Glee was competing with stuff like thirty Rocks, and I was these feel First of all, Glee feels like a light drama because it's an hour long and you have to have dramatic elements. Yeah, Like, I don't know. I guess I just think that the way you write an hour long show is similar across all platforms, and also you have to do kind of similar things, Like I think that like our long, she could be with hour long than half hours half hours, because that's just it makes more sense to screen time is the same. You get a lot more opportunity to do more TV show Awards shows right now are a little bit Yeah. I think what Rachel bras Inhan does on Marvelous Mrs Masil is different than what like what Alison Janny does. Both are great exactly against each other's like kind of google it's weird. I think, like, I just think that should be considered for your consideration. And some of the things that like, let's say like a Betty Gilpin does on Glow is like she's fucking hilarious, but I mean she's like, but it's a traumatic performance doing dramat she's she's out of this world. Yeah, she's amazing, beautiful, stunning. Can I end on another fan street? But this is actually something I'm not ashamed of. UM was was it a table reader? But in this movie that she's in, UM that I and I have. I have a bit part of a part of his boyfriend and it's the most perfect thing in the world. Um that I play his significant Um, he's a good kisser. But um, but Betty Gilbin was there and like this is right as Glow came out and like she had red hair and she looked great and it was just very casual. So you need to brought me in and introduced me to her. And I was like, hi, um, you're fantastic on Glow and You're like you are you are so so good and she was just very sweet. And that is a fan that is a sort of pseudo fan interaction that I'm okay with. And also in that movie and Bowen said that he is that she is more beautiful in person. It's true. I heard. Okay, I have another coff off the air, Off the air. Okay, I'm so sorry anyway, but that's how we ended. I have a question for you off here. Okay, great, we're gonna go there much by um No, but Betty iconic iconic, Yeah, she really is. Um this episode, I have a question for you guys. When did you find your culture? JK, we gotta be done. Oh wait, what did you my story an exactly to be really concise, Kelly Clarkson Disney World Survival. Yes, okay, great, um Japanese RPGs, Matt TV. And because because we got Fox better than we got NBC on my antenna because I didn't have cable and um, I'm math. Yes. And now you said your three even though we asked you a hundred episodes ago. Oh my god, my three? Okay, okay, it was Stacy Um angel Is, Sam, Sam, Pam, Pam Pam, Stacy, Astley at Ashley, same names to me. Okay, here's what it was. My three. It was Pam, Ashley and Kim John. But they're so bad. You know who else knows they're bad, the listeners of last culture. You know you're bad. And listen, here's what I would say. It's a little trick that I learned from j Um. But we're gonna leave with a song, which is my single that's out right now. I've been I'm kind of performing it all around. Performed it at um our show I Don't think so, honey. I performed it at another show pictured this at the Virgil. I performed it all on Twitter and Instagram and you can find that and retweet that. Um it's very viral potential here. It is. Be a bit to your friends, Be a bit to your closest friends, this pride, Elliot Nate, Oh, your closest friends are being a bitch to them. Tell them that they are stupid even though they are smart. Get up in their friend group at spart rumors about them, tell their parents they don't of them, and most importantly, go to the I R s and tell them about everything that they deducted that they shouldn't have deduct Bye Bye.
