The blue wave that many had predicted came true on Tuesday, with Democrats taking control of both sides. The House and the Senate. And here in California, it was much the same with Democrats flipping House seats that were under new maps following the passage of Prop 50. For more on the statewide races, we're joined live by KQED politics correspondent, Guy Marzerotti.

Becerra Played It Safe and Won: What Comes Next for the Governor-Elect”

The blue wave in last night’s election just seemed to get DEEPER BLUE when it reached the Golden State, something echoed in the victory speech by California’s governor elect Xavier Becerra.

California saw at least three House seats flip, including one in the North Bay, where Democrat Mike McGuire defeated Republican Congressman James Gallagher. And Proposition 40, the one-time wealth tax targeted at the state’s billionaires, looks headed for defeat.
