Humanoid robots are making astonishing gains in specialized athletic tasks, to the point of breaking world records once thought unreachable by machines. However, their weaknesses remain obvious: many can run faster than humans but still cannot consistently stop, recover from mistakes, or handle the wide variety of situations that humans navigate effortlessly. 

Dolly Parton died following a brief battle with cancer ... TMZ has confirmed. Parton’s reps said in a statement to TMZ ... she was surrounded by loved ones at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville when she died.

As of August 2026, testimony is ending and closing arguments are expected soon. Recent prosecution experts testified that Clancy was criminally responsible for her actions, while the defense continues to argue she suffered from severe postpartum psychosis and lacked legal responsibility.

California Governor Gavin Newsom and his wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, have put their Fair Oaks estate near Sacramento on the market with an asking price of $7.5 million. The property was listed through Sotheby's International Realty on August 24, 2026. 

A federal judge in Virginia has temporarily blocked a proposed auction of more than 100 artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Titanic, siding for now with concerns raised by the U.S. government and preservation advocates. 

The key revelation is that the Tate brothers' legal team now says much of the luxury lifestyle displayed across social media was part of a marketing strategy. Court filings assert that several supercars, expensive watches, and even a purported $50 million yacht were rented, leased, borrowed, or used for promotional purposes rather than being personally owned by Andrew or Tristan Tate.

Prosecutors allege that William Bao Khoa Ly befriended an 89-year-old man at a McDonald's, gained access to his phone and financial accounts, and then transferred roughly $100,000 into cryptocurrency accounts under his control. He has pleaded not guilty, and the case remains pending. 

President Donald Trump suggested on August 25, 2026, that the United States might rename Lake Ontario to“Lake America” amid the rapidly worsening trade dispute between the U.S. and Canada. According to the Wall Street Journal, Trump said on social media that he was “giving serious consideration” to the change.
