Thursday 5/25 - George Washington University, Target Clothing, & Travel Warnings Against California & Minnesota

View descriptionShare

George Washington University changed its “Colonials” moniker to “Revolutionaries” after facing scrutiny from students who deemed the school’s mascot as offensive. NBC anchor and alumnus Chuck Todd helped reveal the new name Wednesday, scrapping the former centuries-old Colonials name the school was under since 1926. Earlier on Tuesday, Fox News Digital first reported that some southern Target stores were forced by the corporation to move LGBTQ Pride merchandise away from the front of their locations after customer "outrage" to avoid a "Bud Light situation." Target Pride merchandise includes female-style swimsuits that can be used to "tuck" male genitalia, products labeled as "Thoughtfully fit on multiple body types and gender expressions," a "Gender Fluid" mug, a variety of adult clothing with slogans such as "Super Queer," party supplies, home decor, multiple books and a "Grow At Your Own Pace" saucer planter. The NAACP may have started something with its advisory warning travelers against visiting red-state Florida. The American Principles Project put out a warning Wednesday advising families against visiting California and Minnesota “due to dangerous attempts by their governments aimed at overriding parental rights.”Terry Schilling, who chairs the project, cited “trans refuge state” laws passed in the two blue states in response to red-state bans on gender-identity drugs and surgeries for minor children.
