Despite the strong turnout, the Fresno City Council was not asked to approve the full SEDA plan during Thursday’s meeting. Instead, the mayor requested that council members select a preferred alternative for one of five agenda items and send it back to city staff for a financial analysis.
The problem is not a lack of money, but years of bad spending priorities. With an $18 billion deficit on the horizon, California Senate Republicans unveiled their budget priorities to get back to basics, ensure results, and improve the quality of life for all.
