A Colorado man with an active arrest warrant was taken into custody after applying to the Commerce City Police Department and requesting a ride‑along. On this day in history, Americans remember the 1996 arrest of the Unabomber, Ted Kaczynski, at his remote cabin in Montana.  The capture ended a nearly 18‑year nationwide manhunt after a handwritten manifesto — recognized by his brother — led federal investigators to one of the most notorious domestic terror cases in U.S. history.
