Some of America’s rarest founding documents including the Treaty of Paris and an early Declaration of Independence engraving are hitting the road for the first time ever as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Flown aboard a specially branded “Freedom Plane”, the records will tour eight U.S. cities, starting in Kansas City, offering free public access to history usually locked away in National Archives vaults.
