California lawmakers hammered DMV Director Steve Gordon for the agency’s failure to crack down on dangerous drivers who kill, after a CalMatters investigation showed the DMV rarely suspends licenses or investigates fatal‑crash motorists. Gordon offered few answers, repeatedly saying he “didn’t know” key data about the DMV’s own enforcement prompting legislators to warn, “We’re talking about people’s lives.”
