If you grew up in the 90s, you may be most familiar with Hélène Truter as Tannie Poppie in the iconic Afrikaans sitcom, Vetkoekpaleis. (You can rewatch some of the episodes on the SABC's YouTube channel!)

These days Tannie Poppie lives in the seaside town of Hermanus where she owns a lifestyle store called Amulet.

She hasn't left the small screen, Hélène is the creator, head writer and actress in the popular drama series, Swartwater.
