The growing aggression against the media has reached new heights

Four student journalists who work for the UCLA Daily Bruin were attacked on Wednesday by counterprotestors when a demonstration on campus turned violent. Over the last 20 years, deteriorating trust in media and the rise of the internet surveillance era have led to increased aggression against journalists.

While members of the press have historically been viewed with more neutrality, this is no longer the case.
