Voters in South Lake Tahoe will soon decide on whether to make vacation home owners pay a whopping $3-thousand dollar vacancy tax on residences that sit empty for more than 6 months.
However, the decision whether these vacant homes should be taxed is dividing voters in the city against many Bay Area residents who have second homes in the Tahoe region.
