In this week’s episode, Katie talks to Racial Justice Educator and author of Waking Up White and Finding Myself in the Story of Race, Debby Irving. Katie and Debby open up about recognizing and examining their own privilege, everyday habits to cultivate to build racial equity, and resources to enrich your child’s education around matters of race. Later, Katie welcomes Dr. Margaret Hagerman, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Mississippi State University and author of White Kids: Growing Up with Privilege in a Racially Divided America, who discussed that even with good intentions, the choices that we make for our children can widen the racial divide.
