  This was the State Culinary Talents and high school champs were crowned---Mitchell CTE and Harrisburg High school were among the winners----from our part of South Dakota----Harrisburg and Mitchell CTE

   Dailyn Kiner –won 1st Place in the Cake Decorating---Mitchell CTE

   It is St. Patrick’s Day Parade time----and we have been working with our friends—for the event tomorrow---

 

Ryan Murphy is the Committee Chair—and has joined us to share with the public what they need to know----about the parade—the wearing of the green---and making it an Irish Day---all of those that are real Irish or those that are just being Irish for the Day---can enjoy it-----even if we have a little snow that will turn green as hits those attending---

   Sioux Empire Sportsman Show-----Mike Costanzo set up---

 

   Growing up in the National Seashore wilderness of Fire Island—Jonathan Wood’s Fascination with birds began early and lured him into the ancient sport of falconry, training his first falcon at the age of 12.

 

   He is currently the founder and President of Raptor Project Inc—training and caring for the largest traveling collection of birds of prey in the world with raptors from every habitat on the planet. Jonathon is one of the few professional master falconers in America. He personally delivers up to 800 lectures and large exhibits across the US annually from the border to border affecting many millions of fans.

 

   Mr. Wood is federally licensed Master Falconer-Wildlife Rehabilitator, Raptor Propagator and Game Bird Breeder and is also licensed to handle eagles and endangered species for educational programs.

 

   Woods expertise has placed him in demand as a consultant to national zoo and he has worked on Hollywood movies---documentaries and books. He was chosen to be the leader in the famed annual procession of animals at New York’s Cathedral of St. John Divine.

   Recently he was recognized in Washington DC at Constitution Hall and became the recipient of the DAR National Conservation Medal.

 

    Jonathan Wood is the inspiration for the character Jon Wood in the popular novel Frightful’s Mountain by award winning author Jean Craighead George.
