Blog-June 16, 2023-9-10---It’s YOUR Business
Father’s Day Weekend----and include with it---our annual crowning of Little Miss Hartford---and an interview with the new Queen/Princess/or ---Dave Austad—on the US Open—now in day 2-----and what about those Orange Golf Balls that will say “Old Zort” on them?
A full house----and in the 9:00 Hour—we start with Jodi Schwan---Sioux Falls Business—
She always shares her story lines---
Among them:
Just the short list----we share our headlines—and she posts our interview as well----
----------Jessie Schmidt---introduces us (for some of you re-introduces you to Premiumization—when companies offer higher-end products and services for a premium price. A classic example—airlines selling both business and economy seats—or car manufacturers offering a standard model and one featuring heated seats and leather trim.
Now businesses selling everything from beauty products to booze are adding new premium options and services. Jessie talks about the options being tricky—and how do your homework.
She will suggest comparison shopping –watching for ‘greenwashing’---but she shares beware. And yes stick to your budget---and that can do wonders for your financial health.
9:19----Kip Rounds---SD Game Fish and Parks leads us off---talking about pheasant nesting and broad rearing. He’ll explain the season—and why it is so important. Plus what type of habitat is favorable for nesting---the challenges pheasants face with nesting success---we’ll even share what comes next for chicks—and how they survive.
In the same segment as we do the countdown to Pheasant Fest hosting here in Sioux Falls—Jared Wiklund—Pheasants Forever will explain what you should know and how Habitat Helpdesk at Fest does work with the landowners.
Teri Schmidt---Experience Sioux Falls will share what our community and the state is doing. Hopefully we’ll start giving a countdown on the days till the event---comes here---a big feather in our caps—and our businesses and those coming will love it.
At 9:32----Allen Unruh---can go back home again. And those he grew up with have needed his help. This morning we return to Elkton, SD to talk with Fred Hererfeld---who has faced a lot of adversity—West Nile virus—20 years ago---he had severe neuropathy—restless leg syndrome—2 severe cases of shingles---foot pain---foot numbness—loss of balance. Drugs made him sick---
He has 8 grandkids—and wants a quality of life so he can enjoy them and be an influence in their lives.
So we will talk with Fred—Allen helps fill in the blanks—and bring some peace to his friend and family.
The scenario should touch a lot of people this morning.
9:45---Dave Austad---yes OUR MR. GOLF joins us on Day 2 of the US Open—in Los Angeles. It’s the third of four MAJOR Pro Golf Events---and we’ll have the chance to look behind the scenes will all the PGA and LIV events----more investigations----and while some of the golfers are less than peaceful---the game goes on.
We’ll pick our winners---talk about the background on the course they were playing and what big name who lived on the course was not allowed on?
Oh yes---I asked him about all these adds about my favorite colored golf ball—the Callaway Tennessee Orange. We have figured out a way for people to follow my golf play. We will put a special Zort tag on each one—and if you find it---we’ll have some fun.
Father’s Day Weekend—we’ll talk about that—and what would be good for the dads and grand-dads for a present.
We close the hour with Diana Patterson—Sanford Career Opportunities.
