Blog—December 9, 2024—10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show brings together leaders who talk farm—business----and we work to share with our audience.
Bryson Patterson---SBA of South Dakota----shared with us the kind of topics they are discussing Statewide---and who is expected to be given he nod on the national SBA positions as well as those in neighboring states.
States get their new director—like Bryson this year---and Minnesota has just named theirs. To us we follow the help for business across the region----and with 4 ag shows a week—sometimes we have guests in 1-2-0r 3 of the 4. Broder to border----and industry to industry.
Bethany Olson---worked with us and Dave Scaturro last week helping us share in our business and ag business shows—what the Radio-thon with KTWB and KELO-FM was doing to collect money. Bethany was able to share officially this morning that $213,216 was pledged and/or collected. More money can still come in. Having been a part of this before—we know that the recipients are needy---and we have the job to communicate---help this is needed…and this year it worked very well in our Friday shows. Our It’s YOUR Agri Business show included Bethany in our shows---leading up to Friday—and with the follow-up today. We were glad to do it. Yes YOU CAN STILL HELP!!!
Brent Baloun---Plains Commerce Bank---and another PCB member attended a Dairy Show in Minnesota. Yes it was about cows---the milk----and why we should be following along and learning. Having interviewed Brent twice now since they event—he did learn and they did produce. We were happy to partner with Plains as we do in many projects in our business and agri-business shows.
Sarah Heinrich—KFGO Fargo—provided the Growing Harvest Network around the half hour---Matt Swenson gave us the morning commodities—he meat—the energy---and yes the big board on Wall Street.
Jen McKeown---LEVO—explained to us the drive they have to collect money to name teacher winners around not only South Dakota but neighboring states—we know that ----and we want to help. You have till the end of December to contribute---and at the same time select a teacher you feel deserves the Award.
Rock Nelson---talked with Rachel Weiland—Director of Business Engagement for SD Trade----
We talked about the history her organization
She told us about how SD Trade’s recent trade mission to Israel began with its planning stages, who went, what was it’s purpose who they meet with and was accomplished.
Rocky Forman—is working with us in Huron—with the South Dakota Farmers Union on the State Convention. 140 were already entered at show time----and among those that we will talk with us on the air 9-11 Wednesday will be State Vet Beth Thompson----the list of guests is impressive---and it’s a trip we really enjoy making even it is seasonably cold outside—and for our benefit---inside.
Laura Edwards---State Climatologist—set the stage for us for the Christmas Season that isn’t that far away. The 50’s spoiled many of us over the weekend—but apparently we’re returning to more seasonal weather in the next few days---Laura will help us stay on track---
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show provides us the opportunity to work with those in agriculture---look for help from one-way politicians who need to consider the farms and families they have----and generally work with us to understand even though they may understand it-----it helps to have open handed media working with and for them.
