Blog-August 30, 2022—9-10---It’s YOUR Business

It’s YOUR Business----a collections of guests—including the Governor—and others that have good information----and we’ll do our best to Q & A our way for our listeners.

While the Governor will be up at 9:32---we start with roadblocks of sort with the Trucking Industry. Still hit hard by training workers---getting materials and then getting them here.

We have followed along closely with Christine Erickson—President of the South Dakota Truck Association---and we visited with her and Rick Hoogendorm in meetings in Washington DC.

We’ll talk about the changes for obtaining a commercial driver’s license---and how interested individuals can complete theory and behind-the-wheel-training—with nationally registered trainers . The South Dakota Trucking Association represents 416 trucking and trucking industry businesses in South Dakota . The work is to make it a one stop shop.

Kudos to Sioux Falls Downtown Planners---the 2nd Annual Downtown Pork Showdown begins Thursday September 1st and runs thru September 30th. 19 restaurants will be competing ---and Tenley Schwartz and Joe Batchelor will keep us posted during the competition.

Last year was the first year of the competition---and we followed along—promoted and will do the same this year.

This follows up the success with pizza battles—and burger battles---all win—the restaurants—the pork industry---and those that take the time to vote to chose the winner.

Governor Kristi Noem is in Sioux Falls---and between appointments at 9:32—we’ll visit with her about the Wholestone Project---the Buffalo-Bison plans to harvest 8000 a day. But sides of South Dakota have gotten very predictable static from residents. Even though both of the facilities—are the latest state of the art structures. Last week the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce members—unanimously endorsed the Wholestone Project---challenged by leaders upset with the 229-and Benson Road Location.

When the Wholestone project went thru the necessary hearings---the Chamber—Sioux Falls City Council---and Development Organizations—as well as Governor’s Office in Pierre –endorsed the project that was being given accolades by four states with the central location and the modern design.

What will the Governor share -is agriculture still #1 in South Dakota?

We’ll talk as well about the Dakota State and Southeast Tech Cyber Security Expansion project—and $200 million to advance working force housing.

David Owen---President of the South Dakota Chamber will give us some updates on their businesses—and we’ll also check issues before the public on November 8th—including marijuana.

Our It’s YOUR Business Show---covers a wide swath of story lines----and we appreciate leaders being willing to talk with us about what’s important---and answer our questions. Something we have done in this 3,834 shows.
