Blog—August 28, 2023-10-11—It’s YOUR Ag Business

Our It’s YOUR Agri Business show---started rounding the  bend to the South Dakota State Fair---which occurs this week---and while we will promote it earlier in the week----with interviews---we will be live from Huron 9-11 on Friday.

It will be our 2nd Annual Visit to the really BIG SHOW in South Dakota---and there are a “lot of pieces parts” that we will use to set it up this week.

We start with Candi Briley who for 18th years has been working the South Dakota State Fair---she has been building it too. Not only with the attendees---but the kids----and food—rides-entertainment---and building on the site. She is good at what she does—and we enjoy having her with  us as we are happy to bring County Fairs together with the importance of the South Dakota State Fair.

She works hard—we count it down -ceremoniously and when it arrives—we are there to make a difference.

Scott Wick and Julie Hammer from the Sioux Empire Fair---help us promote the State Fair -we know they are on the grounds—see people from our County Fair---and we find ways to make a difference in the eyes of the beholder as we work year around.

Scott talked with us this morning---and Julie will help us promote on Wednesday---talk about the good things, the great things, the stand up and cheer things that should make us all proud.

Organizations come together to make the Fairs happen---this year—AGAIN—SD Corn and SD Soybeans we’ll be together—and we visit with Jerry Schmitz on the Bean side—and today with Danita on the road---Kelsey Gerarts—just chosen Dakotafest Woman Farmer-Rancher of the Year-and the first woman on the SD Corn Board—shared the importance of going to the fair---working with soybeans---and how she will be working with us in the future to recognize the those that were in Rancher of the Year Court—and the young ladies who make such a big difference on their families properties.

Brent Baloun---Plains Commerce Bank---shared with us  all going on with “The Planners”----they keep a close eye with all the farm shows they do---and make their visits to farm and business properties to make sure that they are getting the help they need planning for tomorrow.

     Sarah Heinrich-had the Growing Harvest Network----Matt Swenson—Swenson Commodities—had the up-to-the-date numbers.

Jerry Schmitz---SD Soybeans talked with us about working together at the Fairs and on special projects around the state and around the country.

Right now they are looking for a “Strong Finish” for the growing season-----yes they realize that SD Corn and SD Soybeans have so many of the same people that are each working corn and soybeans in a rotation year.

As part of our State Fair Coverage---Gerri Eide—FFA of South Dakota-makes sure we work with their 360 or so schools and organizations---we get the opportunity to work with her officers---and give them the chance to work with us on our State-wide Radio show. We enjoy it –and want to make it exactly what they want to remember from a “Friendly” media.

They will be a part of our coverage in Huron on Friday.

Vern Boer was on our show this week---talking about Veterans—and we gave him the follow-up in our show today. It was special for us—and those that get the support of the Meat Feast---that raised some valuable funds.

Bryson Patterson----SBA of South Dakota—gave us some support last week along with Rock Nelson—to give the Special Event at the Sanford Barn—plenty of notoriety--- made a difference for us----and we provided even more understanding about the Ag Business we understand is number one not only in South Dakota—but in neighboring states.

Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show---is designed to do some educating—growing with those maturing thru our schools—and be a home for businesses that are in our show.
