   It’s FAIR WEEK---and we have been sharing the hard work that Candi Briley does getting the Fairgrounds and events ready for the 2024---SD State Fair.
   Candi gave us the countdown---21 hours—51 minutes---22 seconds from the start of the 2024 event. Wednesday was a day that was added---this year----a good sign when you are adding times to an event---that more and more want to be a part of it.
    We’ll talk with Candi on Wednesday---Thursday is Salute to Veterans program on the Northwestern Energy Freedom Stage ---Governor Kristi Noem and St Governor Larry Rhoden will attend and all vets and military personnel will receive free gate admission. 
     The keynoter is Colonel Stacy Kooistra---who has over 26 years of military service within the active-duty US Army, SD Army National Guard and South Dakota Air National Guard. 
      Friday we’ll be live from the Fairgrounds 9-11---South Dakota Farmers Union has partnered with us----and they always put together quite the list of their hard working people to talk to us. We look forward to it.
      Saturday is SD Farmers Union Day---quite special on lunch----the menu would cost .44 cents---but if you were paying for all that is included it would be $10.00 plus.
      In our second segment—Patti Brooke—Executive Director of Eastern South Dakota Red Cross made an appeal for blood. It is badly needed with all of the flooding—the heat---and yes COVID. O and A types are most needed---but we know over this Labor Day Holiday---precious blood is truly a big deal. Patti was able to talk us thru the need----who can give---and we encourage you to donate.
     There is another appeal going on beginning today in Lincoln County at the Recovery Center. Lincoln, Davidson, Turner have been hard hit by flooding---you can go to the Lincoln Recovery Center and find out if you qualify on your land---in hour business---and they will be there to answer your questions.
      The other stop we made this morning---was with Lisa Larson one of a dozen runners who will be working the 437 Project----going from the South Dakota/Wyoming Border on Thursday September 19th to September 22nd at the Iowa-South Dakota order. The 437 Project’s mission is to raise awareness for mental health funds for the Helpline Center.
      Lisa Ottmar—with the HELPLINE Center promises to help us cover the travel across the State and this Lisa (Larson) went thru the list o those running across the state—looking to reduce the stigma around mental health issues.
