Blog—April 26, 2024----9-10—It’s YOUR Business
Our Last Friday of April---It’s YOUR Business Show---was able to add another important guest.

Jodi Schwan----shared that Kalidis Bistro was closing it’s doors in central Sioux Falls----surprised us---Express---closing 95 stores---and selling the rest—which could include Sioux Falls---but there may be a Mall connection to this.

Big week in Tea---future planning there-----Real Estate—number hits 1000+ again---and Jodi shares—some are considering what is for sale---and whether or not that is a career that would make a difference—today, tomorrow and beyond.

Just a few of the stories---Jodi is writing about—or in the process of writing about.

You can look to her on line—or just with our podcast or her-’s to find out what we chatted about on this last Friday of April.

Jaime Wood BBB of South Dakota was reporting on the resurgence of the “Can you hear me now” Scam.

In essence if someone is asking “Can you hear me now?” on the phone HANG UP---they probably have you on a list that they don’t mean to help you

All the scammers want you to say is “yes” or record your voice which can then be used or edited to make it seem like you authorized something that you didn’t---The BBB said it continues to receive reports from Scam Tracker—the organizations tool that keeps an eye on reported scams across the country.

Some calls can be about banking, vacation packages, warranties and Medicare cards. They could be impersonating a business like your bank, a government agency, or an insurance company. Avoid them----you don’t want trouble.

Teri Schmidt---Experience Sioux Falls and Jason Nelson with Game Fish and Parks were on in their Friday slots.

Teri was updating the June 14-19th Dakota Alliance Soccer Event---with 168 or so teams---the hope is that Sioux Falls will like the Pheasant and Quail Fest events will make a mark to get these events returned in 2026.

Mr. Nelson talked to us about a new fishing called  Big Sioux Fly Fishing Club that is getting traction here. Outdoor Campus Outreach Booklet is available for those that want to find out about all the various out-door related events scheduled this season.

There is a big event tonight at the Sioux Falls Convention Center----the annual Alpha Center’s Dinner. 40 or so years. Allen and Leslee Unruh have been promoting this ---and today we pulled a clip from Wednesday’s med show in which he talked about attending a Right to Life Meeting in Elkton many years ago---jumped into speak---was heard---and today—they are working on this event that will attract hundreds -talking about the Alpha Center---what those with questions can get answered----and perhaps make a decision that can change a life or family.

Tonight I’m the MC for the event---I know with 31 pages of script---a fabulous meal and hundreds attending---we’ll be able to help those that someday want to do as Allen did today—go to a Grandparent day at a local school.

We’ll share with you on Monday-more information—and do all we can to help in a way that lets those with questions—get them answered in a way that lets them decide what to do.

9:44---we had the chance to visit with South Dakota Director of Health Melissa Magstadt.  She shred they have completed a comprehensive State Health Assessment and the State Health Improvement Plan. These foundational documents mark a significant step forward in the state’s commitment to achieve Public Health accreditation Board approval and improve health outcomes for al South Dakotans.

It was launched initially in 2019---but paused due to the Covid 19 pandemic. This effort prioritized community involvement thru assessments, conversations and interviews leading to the ID of health priorities and strategies with the SDFMC’s Guidance.

We’ll be working the Health Departments office for more information as quick as we can get additional information.

We closed the hour with Diana Patterson---Sanford Career Opportunities.

Our It’s YOUR Business show works with leaders---asks questions helpful to the audience---and keeps you in mind as well as your families health.

Listen live at 1320, 105.1, 107.9---use the KELO App—streaming on line or just ask Alexa.

Norm Anderson is posting the show as this PODCAST—with my blog to help you understand what was covered. Questions for me—Bill Zortman—call 605-728-BILL or email me at bill.zortman@mwcradio.com.
