April 22, 2024—9-10---It’s YOUR Business------Show 44-51
We start the last full week of April---with a show that was rather special----Monday’s are traditionally real estate shows---Report Card Show----Remodelers Show—and today---we included a few other important story lines---including a growing CREDIT UNION Scenario—with LEVO.

Teri Schmidt---Experience Sioux Falls got the week started---and we covered some upcoming events that are pretty doggone important.

Coming up Sioux Falls Convention  Center this Friday---Becky Hammon---WNBA Coach---speaking to the big event----tickets for the event on the Experience Sioux Falls website experiencesiouxfalls.com.

Yankton Park---168 Soccer teams coming June 14-18th—national event—and if we get a good reaction----could host again in 2026. 11 players on the field at a time usually 16 players on a team—and just thing of all the parents and family that will be coming to Sioux Falls---

This is an annual event where 800 to 1000 people gather to celebrate the visitor industry in Sioux Falls which is an annual economic benefit to our community of over 456 million dollars.

Teri has worked closely with It’s YOUR Business—and the media for years—and trust me—she knows what she is doing and we should all be happy to work with her.

Guest 2—at 9:17----LEVO President Fran Sommerfield---Sommerfield says he has been in Sioux Falls 15 years---and they just announced the plans to acquire a Sioux City, Iowa bank branch from Heritage Bank, National Association. The branch is located in Singing Hills Blvd. Yes they are headquartered in Sioux Falls and they have entered into an agreement with Heritage—based in Spicer, Minnesota.

Mr. Sommerfield shared that the acquisition will allow the company to better serve the needs of members and provide opportunity for more people to live better. He shared that is their “mantra”—live better and that’s what they do to help people indeed live better.

Once the agreement is approved by regulatory authorities and signed by both parties, Levo will take on some deposits and loans, as well as property—though it may take a few months.

LEVO has reached out to its customers to let them know it is expected to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2024.

We learned that “Levo” means to lift up and they say they are very focused on lifting up the community. The not for profit cooperative has over 34,000 members with 6 Sioux Falls locations and serves 29 counties in South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.

Listen to the interview where we got the differences with a Credit Union compared to bank---and their hopes to use the I-29 corridor in the years ahead.

Todd Boots----and Steve Swenson---who are part of the Remodelers show shared some between show information today. We talked about the needs---what they are seeing in Handy-Man----as well as how the legislature did as far as home builders and real estate folks were concerned.

Teddi Mueller---Sioux Empire Home Builders Association talked about the projects they are doing---including upcoming events. One thing about the world going round and round is that there are always new people taken the reins to help with needs in the future. Could be Home Builders---Real Estate Association---and we like to have them get their chance to talk as well.

Jerry Berg--- Intek—and Joe Hansen—Extreme Heating and Cooling are always a part of real estate shows. It is important that we talk about keeping a house good for living and good for selling. We have shared for years the important keeping records on work that was done in the homes.

Our It’s YOUR Business Shows---cover a lot of ground---share the working climate for all those involved whether they are builders, realtors----bankers—Credit Union---and people like Teri Schmidt—Experience Sioux Falls.

Listen live to It’s YOUR Business---at 1320---AM----use they notes and blog as a guide to what was in the show and where to find it.

Norm Anderson will post this blog with the show by noon today-look for the April 22, 2024-9-10 Show.
