Blog-April 17, 2024—9-10—Working on Wellness Wednesday
Each Wednesday----we do a Working on Wellness Wednesday—more than just alliteration -----pieces of our puzzle coming together.
In this show---we were able to have Eric Pauli--- Terry Ebright---Sioux Valley Energy and X-cel Energy----explaining Nation Work Zone Awareness Week. On this day---April 17th---utility and construction works around the country are wearing orange as part of Go Orange Day, providing a visible reminder of their support for the families who have been impacted in work zone incidents.
These two guys are with different entities----but together they let us share the following which should be done:
Slow down as you approach the work zone
When possible, safely move over to provide workers with a clear buffer lane from traffic
If you can’t move over safely, reduce your speed to 20 mph below the POSTED speed limit as you pass the work zone.
Never use your mobile devise while operating a vehicle. For more information about the important Work Zone Awareness week—visit https.www.nwzaw.org.
Most states have passed move-over laws protecting workers by requiring motorists slow down and merge away from a vehicle working on the side of the road. Unfortunately, many drivers are unaware that the law in their state protects utility workers and they could receive a ticket for not moving over or reducing their speed significantly when passing them.
The good news this week---this time of year officially moves us to the “welcome to spring scenario.”
Craig Lawrence----yes former TV news chief--joined us as we talked about HOPE. Craig shared an interesting, informative interview that should be close to everyone—anyone—CANCER.
Craig used the word miraculously healed when he was talking about his son with terminal cancer---6 years ago---and he had just two months to live.
He shared how God was with him----and what followed was starting a ministry to help bring hope, strength, and peace to people suffering with cancer and those who care for them.
The family was astounded at what happened and still is. And now they are helping suffering listeners find hope and invite them to our free event at the Country Club on April 24th at 11:45.
It was a renowned cancer researcher who healed Chris and is willing to talk about cancer treatment. Dr. Brian Leland Jones lives in Sioux Falls—and is research director for the National Foundation of Cancer Research—yes in Washington DC. He was at Sloan Kettering---and Denny Sanford wanted to cure breast cancer and recruited specialists from around the world to come to Sioux Falls and Brian was one of them. 1 in 3 women get cancer—1 in 2 men.
People are HUNGRY for hope-everywhere---and people ask 3 questions
---1---how can I fight the fear?
---2—if there’s a God, how can I ask God for HELP?
How do I know I’m making the right decisions about my treatment.
Chris Lawrence is co-founder of HOPE---and Craig is co-founder.
Yes this is their ministry to the suffering---no money requests---just HOPE. We’ll follow along with the event next Wednesday---and hope to have him join us to share the story.
Alla---who works with us on the needs for those in Ukraine on Friday---asked me if she could help us with Alcohol Awareness Month. She sent “Joe” to us and we talked about how to do April without Alcohol this month. It was an interesting story---and I reference you to go on line to the podcast of the show and listen to Joe take my questions---and in essence had great ideas for our listeners.
This was not ANY JOE ---it was special at 9:32 slot in the show.
We closed the Working on Wellness Show with ---Wendy from Active Generations. They are doing some fund-raising---- for their location at East 5500 E Active Generations Place. All ticket proceeds assist Active Generation for the event 6-9PM on Friday.
There will be Generation Food Station’s, silent generation to Gen Z with heavy appetizers from 5 local chefs and JJ’s Wine and Spirits for Cocktails with one glass of Wine included. As part of it ---the Hegg Brothers—6 piece bank for music and dancing----cocktail attire encouraged.
Our It’s YOUR Business ---Working on Wellness Show—does reach out—never the same old thing—but information that is useful to our audience.
