Yvette Leslie is the Inventor of The Smarter Hook ®. Yvette’s previous background was spent in financial services with 17 years as a compliance manager and 10 years as a financial adviser. Yvette was featured in Courageous Woman magazine "One Woman's Journey to Produce Her Own Product". The Smarter Hook was also featured in Houston Chronical – “Happy Handyman: The Smarter Hook can make your life easier” dated August 12, 2019. Yvette encountered many obstacles and fears in pursuing her dream in an industry that she was not familiar. Her tenacity and strength helped her to overcome those hurdles. Through many customers, it was discovered that The Smarter Hook® has over 50 uses. The Smarter Hook®s most popular uses are on the grocery cart, stroller, walker, and luggage. To date, Yvette's product can be found in over 110 stores including hospital gift shops, pharmacies, hardware store and boutiques throughout the United States including Alaska, Guam, and Hawaii.

Dr. Vernice Nellon, is the owner of Kool Breeze Solar Hats, Inc & Kool Breeze Solar Hard Hats, Inc. She manufactures her own patented renewable energy solar cooling hats in Central California. She currently sells her hats all over the world and has been featured on the TODAY show, Make me a millionaire Inventor, and CBS47 – just to name a few. She is the only Minority Women-Owned Solar Hat Manufacturing Company in the United States. 

Her hats are displayed and can be purchased in Walmart, Amazon, ACE Hardware, HSN, True Value, and many other social media platforms. Aside from being a CEO, Dr. Nellon is also a product development coach. She coaches women innovators and helps them to make their ideas come to life. With her experience and the aim to help women inventors, she wrote a book entitled, “The World of Manufacturing; Through the Eye of a Minority Woman.” The target audiences of the book are the woman inventors who have brilliant ideas but do not know how to make it come true. The book, along with the workbooks, contains the important aspects to consider as an inventor and the tips on how to turn those ideas to profits. 

Dr. Nellon and her team embraces over 50 years of experience -, advocating for renewable resource options & healthy behaviors throughout the region. She was honored by the Obama’s Administration as a “Champion of Change” – an innovator in renewable energy. 

Aside from being a dedicated mother and a loving wife, Dr. Nellon has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Human Resources, and a Doctorate in Administration and Organizational Management. She is also an active member of her Local Fresno Metro Black Chamber of Commerce, a board member of the San Joaquin Valley Manufacturing Alliance and Institute for Family Business.
