If you've been feeling anxious about what's happening to the Latino community right now — this episode is for you.

Javier Marín is a Venezuelan immigrant, media entrepreneur, co-owner of El Tiempo Latino, and author of Live from America: How Latino TV Conquered the United States. But more than any of those titles, he is someone who has spent decades studying a truth that most people don't know: this has all happened before.

English-only mandates. Mass deportations. Immigrants thrown in cages regardless of legal status. Corporate America refusing to acknowledge our purchasing power. The word "Hispanic" invented not by us, but by a president looking for votes. None of this is new.

And yet — here we are. 62 million strong. Bad Bunny headlining the Super Bowl. Spanish the second most spoken language in the country.

This conversation is part history lesson, part wake-up call, and part exhale. Because when you know where you came from, the present becomes a little less terrifying.

This episode gets loud, honest, and completely unpredictable as Lina and J.C. sit down with Clif and Shay from Anything But CliShay for a raw conversation about their first season, their relationship, and the behind-the-scenes chaos that helped shape the number one show on the OLAS Media Network. What begins as a talk about production quickly shifts into stories about vulnerability, uncomfortable truths, branding meltdowns, family reactions, and a commitment ring reveal that lands out of nowhere. Things heat up even more when Clif and Shay turn the tables and ask Lina and J.C. a question that stops the room and leaves listeners guessing. From start to finish, this is unfiltered and unedited storytelling that shows exactly what happens when people stop performing and simply talk.

Lina and JC are back in the studio, coffee in hand and stories to tell. In this episode, they reflect on the first quarter of 2025, celebrating wins, navigating chaos, and venting (just a little) about the creative challenges that come with building a studio and managing multiple shows. From working with celebrity chef Pati Jinich to wrangling too many “chefs” in the production kitchen, they share the reality behind the scenes at OLAS.

From workflow lessons to ego checks, this conversation is equal parts hilarious and honest. And yes, they finally hit record.

Radio Star, Turned Sultan | Meet R-Dub

Not all zebras are created equal. In this episode, JC and Lina dive into the beautifully chaotic world of podcast production—where clients dream of unicorns, show up with painted donkeys, and somehow we still deliver magic.

Through hilarious analogies (yes, we’re talking about zebra donkeys in Tijuana), real-world client stories, and behind-the-scenes moments, they break down how podcasts are more than just content—they’re full-on marketing tools.

From branding breakdowns to music beds and show formats, this episode is a goldmine for anyone thinking about launching a show—or wondering why their three-episode meteorologist podcast didn’t go viral.

It’s smart, it’s silly, and it’s the real talk you didn’t know you needed.

In this episode of I Just Wanted to Push Record, host JC welcomes author, entrepreneur, and conservative advocate Broderick Thomas to discuss his thought-provoking new book Five Questions for America from the Mind of a Black Conservative.

From his military service to his work in media and community advocacy, Broderick shares what inspired him to ask the tough questions shaping America’s future. He opens up about his experiences in politics, why he believes conservatism needs a rebrand, and the importance of questioning mainstream narratives. But this isn’t just about politics it’s about values, legacy, and how personal experiences shape our perspectives.

Expect candid moments, strong opinions, and a reminder that real conversations, especially the ones we may not always agree on, are what push us forward. Whether you’re conservative, liberal, or somewhere in between, this episode will challenge you to think critically and engage in meaningful dialogue.
