Duncan Burns was a lost young man searching for a tribe when he first met a bikie gang member who introduced him to a lifestyle of fast rides, fast living and plenty of drugs. Unfortunately for Duncan, this world isn't one you can survive in long and in 2005 he was shot in a gang war and left dying in the gutter.

Shot in a gang war: Duncan Burns Pt. 1

Pregnant at 30, poisoned with strychnine, no crime scene investigated. Gary Jubelin and Karina Berger unpack the case that took 3 months to notice.

Rosslyn McQueen was 30 years old, 22 weeks pregnant, and found dead on a kitchen chair in her rural Victoria home in April 1986. No police investigation was conducted at the scene. Her death was written off as natural causes.

Three months later, toxicology came back. She had died from a fatal dose of strychnine. Gary Jubelin sits down with solicitor turned citizen sleuth Karina Berger, the researcher behind The Poisoned Wife with investigative journalist Hedley Thomas to walk through how a case collapses when the first 48 hours are lost, and how investigative podcasting is now dragging it back into the light.

In this episode of I Catch Killers, Gary Jubelin sits down with Kerry Tucker, former prisoner turned prison reform advocate to track her extraordinary 20-year redemption.

Inside, Kerry became known as the "jail lawyer." 

She kept daily diaries, completed a Master of Arts through Swinburne University (the first Australian university graduation ever held inside a prison), wrote a children's book for incarcerated mothers that's still in circulation today, and began writing parole letters for other women, going from almost no women getting parole to 38 at her lowest count.

She spent her final 6 months working in a law firm in Werribee, left prison on a Friday and was lecturing at university on the Monday, went on to complete a PhD, and has spent two decades advocating for prison reform, education and fraud awareness.

That work was formally recognised in November 2022, when the Magistrates' Court of Victoria spent and removed her criminal and prison record with the endorsement of the Victorian Chief Commissioner of Police, the Attorney General of Victoria, the Assistant Commissioner of Corrections and the Chief Magistrate.
