Caroline Clarke spent nearly a decade as a police officer on the rough streets of West Yorkshire chasing down criminals, working the drugs squad, and stepping into homes torn apart by domestic violence. But nothing in her training prepared her for what happened when she became a victim-survivor herself.

Caroline breaks down the freeze response, a trauma reaction still misunderstood by police, juries, and the public, and explains why survivors are so often blamed instead of believed.
