255. Indian Massacre of 1622

Warriors of the Powhatan paramount chiefdom of Tsenacommacah launched a deadly military offensive against English settlers in Virginia on March 22, 1622. English retaliation resulted in a tragic, decade-long conflict that led to destruction and suffering and redefined Powhatan-English relations in the colony.
