The Peoria Vegan Chef Challenge is coming to the area in April! Local organizer of the challenge, Amy Ashley-Raher joins The Greg and Dan Show to discuss the efforts of raising awareness for a plant-based diet. 

The Peoria Vegan Chef Challenge is in collaboration with the national non-profit Vegan Outreach. Starting April 1st and throughout the month, 18 restaurants around the Peoria area will serve new plant-based menu options. Diners will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites.

He explains how the installation is meant to highlight the importance of downtown Peoria, why this new spot was chosen this year, and how it contributes to a more iconic and visible skyline presence. He also discusses the pride behind the project and what it represents for the community and the organization.

Greg and Dan talk with Sean Sullivan and Pat Sullivan of Kelleher's Irish Pub & Eatery about their annual Fourth of July Family Fun Fest supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Peoria. They explain how the event transforms the Kelleher’s parking lot and nearby Water Street into a festive riverfront celebration space on July 4th starting at 5:00 PM.

They also discuss why the fundraiser has remained such an important tradition for so many years. The event includes food, drinks, kids’ activities, live entertainment, and a reserved viewing area for the fireworks show over the Peoria Riverfront, making it a long-standing summer highlight for families across the area!
