Lance Randolph is one of the more colorful growers in Lodi, quite literally. When the weather's warm, you might find Randolph working in his vineyards wearing a straw hat and red shorts. Randolph is a fourth generation farmer, as his great grandfather, Giacomo Peirano, settled in Lodi in the late 1800s. Randolph has carried on the tradition and is owner/grower for his family's label, Peirano Estate Vineyards. He's an engaging guest in this From the Vine podcast with host Bob Highfill of The Record.

His event has become an annual highlight on the area's social calendar and is similar to Comic Con in San Diego. StocktonCon attracts fans from throughout California. Residents of the Brookside neighborhood are at odds over a proposal that would require all homeowners who live behind the gates to pay a $50 monthly fee that would go directly to Brookside Country Club.
