In July 2018, blackgaze (black metal/shoegaze) juggernauts Deafheaven released one of the most unique records in recent memory. Teens of Denial had music nerds and critical darlings everywhere swooning. The thirteenth (!) record in 23 year old, Will Toledo’s catalogue, provided hooks, riffs, lyrics and arrangements so ludicrously sweet, we still yearn for them to this day.
