View descriptionShare
Simon Gillard was a police officer for sixteen years. In that time he saw the worst and most vulnerable side of humanity. It took its toll. Suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) he had to find a new job, having loved policing and defining himself by his career. Simon outlines the impact of PTSD in his book Life Sentence.
In this interview Simon talks about what attracted him to the police force, why it was so hard to leave, and the ongoing impact of PTSD.
