Elizabeth Packard was a modest mother of six living in the late 1800s. Her husband had her committed to an asylum after she started voicing a different religious outlook to him (he was a pastor). Elizabeth spend three years in the asylum, and managed to do what many could not - she proved her sanity. Not only that but she went on to make real change for women and those with mental ill health.
