Kenya's National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), in partnership with Africa Guarantee Fund (AGF) and Space AI, has launched a Climate-Smart Dairy Value Chain Transformation Project aimed at supporting over 1.8 million smallholder farmers. The chamber says the initiative comes at a pivotal moment for Kenya's dairy industry, which accounts for an estimated 3 to 4% of the country's GDP. The sector continues to grapple with persistent challenges, including high milk aggregation costs, constrained access to finance, and the slow uptake of climate-resilient technologies. Thami Ngubeni spoke to Daniel Biketi, Head of Programs at the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
