A national indaba on Pro-Poor Human Rights Budgeting is underway at the Wits School of Governance in Johannesburg South Africa (SA). Hosted by the school together with the South African Human Rights Commission and the Chartered Institute for Business Accountants, the indaba seeks to advance meaningful dialogue on how fiscal policy and public spending can better support the realisation of socio-economic rights in SA.
It aims to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between government institutions, civil society organisations, academia, and finance professionals on the role of budgeting in advancing human rights.
