"This was a civil war as much as it was a revolution." That's how Kings Mountain National Military Park ranger Robert Holmes describes the battle fought on the ridge in October 1780. It was personal, and it was a pivotal moment for the American Revolution, one that will serve as the backdrop for the series finale of the "Outlander" TV series on Starz.
For this episode, we are talking with Robert about the lead up to the Battle of Kings Mountain, the major players including the Overmountain Men and the consequences of the bloody clash. Robert also talks about how "Outlander" fans can literally walk some of the places that Jamie Fraser would have seen during the book and TV series' events, and discusses why it would have been appropriate for the men of Fraser's Ridge to be present for this all-important battle.
