While the North Carolina Dames have a long-standing legacy of preservation in their own state, they are part of a larger national organization based out of a legendary home in the nation's capital. Dumbarton House in Georgetown has been a museum house for nearly a century, but it also serves as the heart of the NSCDA's collective story.
Through history, the house has changed families, changed names and eventually changed purposes, but under the NSCDA, it has become an epicenter of fascinating history, industry-leading preservation and a vast wealth of knowledge.
As part of our ongoing podcast series, "Burgwin-Wright Presents... North Carolina's Great American Treasures," we are exploring the history of Dumbarton House with Isabella Kiedrowski, NSCDA curator of archives and collections.
